Position Summary:
The Costing Manager will work closely with the Costing Analyst and the Development Team to ensure the maintenance of our cost breakdown library. The Costing Manager will help drive overall margin achievement and track key milestones throughout the product creation calendar. This role will also analyze current and new products and/or services to identify new sourcing opportunities. The Costing Manager will communicate with external partners and cross-functional teams, as well as identify possible problems and resolve them in a timely manner. The Costing Manager will be the subject matter expert in our Product Lifecycle Management tool and its integration with our SAP ERP interface.
Essential Functions of this Role:
The essential duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
• Support development in Estimating, negotiating and locking COGS
• Present cost break down summaries
• Managing upgrades and improvements to PLM software related to costing integration
• Ensure vendor contractual compliance & service levels expectations
• Analyze data to identify opportunities to reduce costs, negotiate and manage existing providers.
• Report on actual costs, negotiation opportunities and overall strategic plan
• Become SME on Asia, LATAM FX rate, labor cost, commodity pricing.
• Manage and oversee info record update from PLM to SAP inclusive of vendor style allocation & costing
• Support Global Planning & Sourcing Director in PPV analysis & tooling expenses

Work Environment:
• This job operates within the corporate office in Irvine. This role routinely uses general office equipment.
Physical Demands:
• Exerts up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time.
Expected Hours of Work:
• Must be available to work occasional off-hours
• Must be available during standard business hours
Travel:
• This job requires 10-15% travel.
Required Education, Experience and Skills:
• A bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field
• 5+ years global experience in back office (ops, finance, planning, costing, development) preferably CPG, accessories or Apparel industry
• Hands on experience with go to market calendar, product creation, vendor allocation supporting sourcing and development initiates.
• 3+ years’ experience with Product Lifecycle Management, ERP and MRP integration
• Experience managing others
• Strong analytical and communication skills
• Strong business, IT, Financial and Accounting acumen
• Keen judgement to make sound independent decisions
• Ability to listen to others and prioritize issues in the event matters escalate
• Proficient with Microsoft Office, with advanced Excel knowledge
• Ability to manage projects and establish clear goals and accountabilities to ensure successful delivery
Preferred Education, Experience and Skills
• The ideal candidate will show a deep curiosity and invest in learning costing and sourcing beyond area of responsibility. Overall strong knowledge of the role.
• International sourcing experience a plus
