Visual Merchandiser, US Retail
Responsibilities:
• Regularly visit all New York area shops to change the window displays and create the interior merchandising while maintaining and ensuring they are set to brand standards.
• Keep a detailed record of all window and interior displays for each store location. Ensure all photos are uploaded to their corresponding reports.
• Keep a record of all furniture and fixtures within the shops to effectively work with the Interior Department on any changes.
• Help develop and source new VM props and tools. Maintain the stock of visual merchandising aids. Ensure all items are kept neat and organized in shops and offsite storage.
• Assist with the planning of displays for special events, exhibitions, collaborations, and shop openings as needed.
• Ensure that all floor sets and windows are produced and installed with minimal disruption to business for special events, changeover and product launches- liaising with the VMM and Retail Management.
• Maintain a direct line of communication with the shop and retail management to better support sales through VM.
• Maintain an understanding of the brand aesthetic through seasonal themes and product knowledge while working to support the needs of the local market.
• Create signage, mock-ups, and display reports using the Adobe Creative Suite. Knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign.
• Work on ad-hoc projects as requested by management.
Essential Experience and Skills Required:
• 1-2 years previous merchandising experience in luxury retail environment
• Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and Windows Office.
• Comfortable using basic hand and power tools, using ladders, lifting items in excess of 20 pounds, and standing for extended periods of time.
• Interested in current trends across culture- fashion, art, architecture, etc.
• Able to accommodate occasional weekend work and long hours.
• Able to complete administrative and operational tasks pertaining to VM and the needs of the business- read reports, keep prop inventory, assemble research, etc.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
