Job Summary:
The Email Marketing Specialist is responsible for the preparation and execution of the various email and promotional campaigns. They will assist in the planning, maintenance and communication of the supporting email and web promotions calendars. This role will also help conduct analyses for the e-mail channel’s performance, identifying opportunities to improve key performance indicators (open rate, clicks rate, demand generation, file size growth, etc.). It is an entry level opportunity that provides an opportunity to learn, contribute and grow.
A Day in the Life:
• Work with the Email Marketing Manager to create email marketing campaigns, outlining the themes, content, offers and timing; collaborate with copywriters, designers and merchants to create the campaign assets; measure the post-delivery results for effectiveness and adjust accordingly to deliver desired goals.
• Co-create/improve content aimed at enhancing the shopping experience and driving engagement/conversion (e.g. navigation, promotional copy, call-to-action, cross sells, etc.).
• Compose the creative briefs that guide the campaign’s creation (links, messaging, images, content, banners, etc.).
• Setup up the individual email campaigns, ensuring they adhere to the creative briefs and are deployed on time per the calendar.
• Present results and provide recommendations to meet weekly, monthly and annual budgetary goals.
• Monitor email file size for growth and opt-outs.
• Assist with the management of the email and promotions calendars.
• Maintain the abandoned cart program and track performance.
• Maintain abandoned product page program and track performance.
• Monitor competitive set and report on activity and trends. Make recommendations for campaign enhancements.
• Cross train on A/B testing platform and be able to apply those basic skills to enhance email/promotional campaigns.
• Other projects and responsibilities as needed.
• Reports to the Email Marketing Manager.

Education/Experience:
• Degree with Marketing or business emphasis
• 1+ years of related Marketing/e-commerce experience in a consumer-based environment
• Experience with Windows Office suite with emphasis on Excel
• Prior experience with an email delivery platform and/or Email service provider
• Basic understanding of web analytics
Nice to Haves:
• Knowledge of Google Analytics
• Basic knowledge of HTML (experience with data feeds, FTP and tracking pixel functionality a plus)
• Past use of Exact Target as email service provider
