Overview
The Public Relations Manager will implement the Company’s public relations strategy through developing and generating brand awareness for the North American divisions of Foot Locker, Inc. This role will work closely with all marketing disciplines, product teams and internal stakeholders. The ideal candidate will be digital-savvy and have experience in PR including strategic planning, media relations, content development, product publicity, events, crisis communication, and measurement.
Responsibilities
• Develop and manage public relations campaigns. Day-to-day activities include brand advocacy, media outreach, product publicity, writing (talking points, media advisories, press releases, etc.)
• Cultivate relationships with key media
• Identify media trends, news cycles and opportunities
• Monitor industry trends - introduce new ideas and programs
• Maintain and build blogger outreach programs through the development of an active brand ambassador network
• Manage tracking and reporting for brands with agency partners, using Cision Cloud
• Work with coordinator on media monitoring & measurement; final gate keeper of earned formula check sheets in PR tracker for ALL divisions
• Manage and build media lists and seeding for all divisions
• Manage PO writing & program budgets for all divisions (program budgets inform the larger PR divisional budget that the Director oversees).
• Lead product publicity for all divisions – fielding media sample requests, fulfilling sample orders and tracking earned placements. Work with coordinator, who will serve as a critical resource to fulfill product requests from stores
• Coordinate influencer seeding – building lists, pulling product, packaging seeding kits, overseeing delivery logistics and monitor/measure social posts
• Update weekly PR & Events calendar
Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE & SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelor’s degree in PR, Integrated Communications, Journalism preferred
• 3-5 years work experience in public relations field at a corporation or agency
• Innovative-thinker
• Strong verbal and written communication skills -- ability to effectively communicate ideas. Writing sample required
• Knowledge and understanding of social media platforms; good knowledge of SEO principles
• Must be a team player and lead with confidence
• Great time management skills, with the ability to multi-task
• Interest and passion for sneakers and sports, a must
• Availability to work occasional nights and weekends; some travel required
