Job Description
Senior Manager, Digital Merchandising
POSITION OBJECTIVE
Responsible for defining and implementing strategy to optimally merchandise Kohls.com using in-depth industry knowledge, competitive analysis and analytics tools. Accountable to drive sales results through site merchandising, cross-selling, up-selling and site search.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic Initiatives
• Lead & develop seasonal and daily merchandising strategies that exceed consumer satisfaction and financial targets
• Lead Website, landing page, product recommendations, and internal search result strategies that create a best in class consumer experience
• Provide leadership insight into the mid and long term strategies that support department goals and objectives
• Surface digital capabilities to drive category sales and connect back to digital product roadmap prioritization
• Help define critical digital KPIs for merchant partners
Site Optimization, Strategy and Execution
• Lead competitive analysis to identify merchandising best practices, as well as expert knowledge on the competitive landscape, identifying opportunities to influence merchandising decisions
• Power user for Omniture (analytics tool) to measure effectiveness and define strategy for site optimization.
• Partner with the Merchandise Intelligence Team in using our tools to make informed decisions and support continuous improvement.
• Increase awareness of key digital initiatives that drive customer value (BOPUS, Shipping)
• Increase connectivity between marketing plans and digital sales forecasts
• Key contact with the Merchant organization to identify assortment sales opportunities and develop strategies to maximize sell through rates on Kohls.com.
• Primary partner with Marketing and IT to execute short and long term projects/vision.
• Establish & maintain key vendor relationships
Management of Associates
• Develop and manage associates
• Capitalize on everyday on-the-job opportunities to coach Associates to use their strengths to perform at their best
• Encourage and recognize Associates’ commitment to self-development
• Take an active interest in building authentic relationships to engage Associates
• Maintain an open and trusting team environment
• Communicate clear consistent goals for the team
• Encourage, support, and ensure up- to-date training, resources, and application of all relevant systems/technology in the Ecommerce industry
QUALIFICATIONS
Required
• 7+ years experience
• 5+ years managing associates
• History of success working both independently and as a member of a cross-functional team on multiple concurrent projects
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Strategic planner that possesses global vision and can communicate well with leaders and Associates in every discipline
• Effective execution of business enhancements, from conception to delivery
Preferred
• Experience with web analytics tools such as Omniture, Endeca, MDM, Oracle ATG Web Commerce Business Control Center or Bloomreach
• Experience leading others, either through direct supervisory responsibility or as project lead
