Position Description – Jersey Planner
Fanatics is ‘By Fans, For Fans’ and we’re looking for sports fans to continue our growth. The Jersey Planner provides interaction and exposure across many of our internal organizations such as Buying, Marketing, Product Development, Logistics, Customer Service, Sales, Sourcing and Finance. Beyond the analytics (determining how well our various products, categories, teams and players are performing), this position will be closely involved with the merchandising team talking sports all day, every day! This position will also work closely with the Sourcing Department planning out the vertical Jersey Business. This position is based in Tampa, Florida and is ideal for those looking for a career in Sports, Merchandising and Ecommerce.
More specifically, the Jersey Planner works closely with the Merchandise Planning and Sourcing teams to help drive all of the key preseason planning and in-season analysis activities (i.e. how the products, categories, teams and players performed). The Jersey Planner is responsible for developing and utilizing daily/weekly/monthly exception reports, as well as various ad hoc reports, to help identify top/poor sellers within their areas of responsibility. Working with the Sourcing Team, the Jersey Planner will also work to plan inventory flow from help from our overseas vendors all the way through to wholesale and internal fulfillment. The Jersey Planner will work to maximize sell in and sell through and manage inventory across the entire organization.
Reporting and Analysis (Identify key trends, hot sellers, poor performers)
• Analyze key business trends daily / weekly and develop recommendations to drive profitable top line sales
• Provide timely and accurate reports / summaries to include ad hoc requests
• Responsible for the analysis, data interpretation and helping to develop solutions / action plans
Annual Planning Process (Build the Financial Plan)
• Develop annual sales, receipt, markdown and inventory plans by department and category
• In concert with Sourcing team, identify uptrend, maintain and downtrend businesses – plan accordingly short and long lead time inventory flows
• Develop historical analysis (team, classification, vendor, player, etc.) to assist with planning
Inventory Management
• Assist with end to end inventory management - understand sales trends, inventory levels and on order
• Identify potential sales opportunities (macro and item level)
• Identify and react to fast / slow sellers with special emphasis on MVP items (key items)
• Monitors daily/weekly/monthly in-bound receipts to ensure alignment with financial targets
• Progressively plan inventory flows from overseas into Fulfillment Centers, Distribution Center and Direct to door retail
Hot Market Pre and Post Event Analysis (Championship Games, Key Events, etc.)
• Provide pre and post event analysis (buy quantities, sales, sell thru, etc.)
Systems Development and Support
• Intense focus on data integrity
• Helps identify system and reporting enhancements
• Participate in new system solution integrations
• Develop tools to manage and maintain inventory accountability
Internal / External Collaboration
• Merchandise collaboration to include reporting and analysis, monthly forecast process to identify key business opportunities – sales first focus
• Attend and actively participate in weekly team meetings and monthly training / development sessions
Qualifications:
• Minimum 3 years experience in Sports Licensed buying or planning
• Minimum 3 years in Inventory Planning
• Intense passion for the business, sports and people
• Proven team building, leadership and analytical abilities
• Possesses innovative, team-oriented traits
• Ability to influence team members through building trust and demonstrating business expertise
• Strong interpersonal skills; excellent written, verbal and listening communication abilities

• Ability to evaluate financial and business indicators and translate data into actionable solutions
• Possess a clear understanding of financial measurements and how to impact them
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Data Warehouse / Business Intelligence tools
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Expert level sports knowledge desired
• Bachelor’s degree required (GPA 3.0 or greater)
