Design Director, Estee Lauder
About the Job
The Design Director is responsible for incorporating 360 campaigns to support overall brand strategy, product positioning, and related criteria into the thoughtful design development and photographic art direction of integrated launch social, digital, collateral, advertising support, special events, and education materials. Ensure that all designs adhere to brand guidelines.
About Your Responsibilities
Design:
•Create innovation in design concepts and photographic art direction, while maintaining brand strategy and identity, including story boards for concept and execution. Responsible for maintaining consistency and integrity of the Estee Lauder brand.
•Drive the development of 360 campaigns to support overall brand strategy and activation
•Ensure the level of excellence in all creative work designed and executed is consistent, cohesive and within budget and timeframe. This includes concept, design, photographic art direction, supervision of retouching, supervision of production, and overall project management
•Responsible for art direction and supervision of photography, retouching, illustration and other outside services
•Ensures collaboration with VM and Package Design teams to enhance consumer communication and overall retail experience
•Provides direction on regional adaptations while understanding need for local nuance and manages and updates style guides to support and guide regional adaptation
Ideation & Digital Mindset:
•Develops new, innovative 2D and 3D, print, digital and social concepts in line with brand strategy that can be utilized across multiple platforms
•Design and concept innovative, locally relevant digital experiences to support brand strategy
•Leverages a digital and mobile-first mindset in design, showing awareness of competitive landscape, trends and emerging technologies
Qualifications
About You
•7+ years related work experience in a creative environment
•BFA or BA in Design, Graphics or Art Direction
•Must have xperience with photo art direction and excellent typographic and design skills
•Substantial knowledge of print production including retouching, pre-press, proofing and be proficient in InDesign, PhotoShop and Illustrator. Animation programs (After Effects) a plus
•Possess a digital- and mobile-first mindset
•Awareness of emerging technologies
•Experience with creative integration across all media/sales channels
•Drive for innovation and disruption within cosmetic industry, luxury mindset a plus
•Excellent written and verbal communications, strong presentation skills, ability to personally organize and set priorities. Must be able to interface with Copy, Marketing, Merchandising, Packaging, and Store Design departments
•Capable of handling numerous projects in a fast-paced, high-pressured environment with minimum supervision
•Commitment to excellence and the highest standards of quality as well as a strong design sensibility
•Passion for fashion, beauty and lifestyle trends
