What This Position Is All About:
The Manager, Design, Sleepwear is a key role within Owned Brands reporting to the Director, Design, Active, Kids, Sleepwear. The Design Manager is responsible for successful execution of a brand design strategy. In this role core responsibilities are color and concept development by delivery, design and development of seasonal design strategy. Responsible for timely execution of key design milestones from concept through final buy meeting. Leads collaboration with execution partners including sourcing, technical design, merchandising, planning, and buying. Partners with external Design and vendor partners as appropriate by brand. Maintain strong working relationship with Li & Fung and other major suppliers.

• Excellent management, communication (written and verbal), interpersonal, organizational and leadership skills
• Highly professional demeanor and appearance.
• Thorough communication skills for daily follow up with overseas factories and local domestic partners
• Confidence to present research trends and designs in to leadership team and cross functional partners
• Polished organizational skills, with ability to prioritize
• Ideal candidate would be able to work in a professional fast paced environment and be able to deal with shifting priorities.
You Also Have:
• Bachelor’s degree preferably in design
• 5-7 year of related in womenswear experience
• Experience in womens sleepwear and intimates strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of current Design technology including the Adobe Suite, Microsoft Office
• Strong flat sketching skills in Adobe Illustrator
• Strong understanding of development process as relates to overseas factories
• Firm understanding of intimate and sleepwear garment construction along with a well versed sense of developing trims and fabric with overseas vendors.
• Knowledge of PLM systems and creating development tech packs
• Confidence in color and print capabilities with a strong color eye for approving l.dips, strikeoffs, and trims
• Understanding of the sleepwear / lingerie market and the competitors
• Experience in fitting sleepwear and intimates from initial proto through final bulk production
• Modern, on trend sense of color, print, and pattern to put together sleep & lingerie mood boards with complete print artwork, fabric and trim trends, and complete styling direction.
