The North Face: Director, Retail Marketing
POSITION SUMMARY
The Retail Marketing Director is responsible for developing and executing specific retail marketing strategies based on corporate and seasonal initiatives, in addition to driving maximum profitability in The North Face retail stores by developing comprehensive retail marketing strategies. Establish control-related standards and procedures.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Develop retail marketing strategies to drive traffic and conversion at all points of distribution.
• Partner with Creative Services, DTC and Brand Marketing to align programs to the GTM Process.
• Work with DTC and Global Brand Team to strategically plan in-store communication tools.
• Design and implement a centrally-based community marketing platform and work with DTC partners to execute in key markets
• Maintain current knowledge of outdoor industry marketing activities.
• Attend Sales Meetings, Trade Shows, and other brand events as necessary.
• Create, manage, and track all applicable budgets to ensure on or under budget performance and all applicable project timelines to ensure on time, high quality deliverables.
• Hire, train and develop team of direct reports.
SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS
• 8+ years of progressive experience in Marketing or related field.
• Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Art and Design, Business, Retail Merchandising, or related field.
• Extensive experience in retail Marketing
• Experience in managing a diverse and creative group of individuals and leading change.
• Outdoor equipment experience a plus.
• Computer/Software Applications: Proficient in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Must have a track record in executing industry leading retail marketing initiatives while establishing procedures, implementing and executing processes.
• Proven track record for successfully developing innovative retail marketing initiatives, traffic driving promotion procedures, implementing processes and getting things done on time.
• Proven record in ROI tracking and applying learnings.
• Highly organized and operationally minded.
• Excellent interpersonal communications, teamwork, and presentation skills.
• Strong project management and organizational skills with consistent attention to details.
• Excellent strategic, conceptual and decision making skills
• Proficient writing and editing skills.
• Travel required: 25%
