MISSION AND RESPONSIBILITIES
We are actively looking for Director of Innovation, focused on strategic area of Eye & Face technologies to join our thriving global color cosmetics R&D team and lead the upfront design and execution of new technology portfolio. The Director of Innovation Eyes & Face will be accountable for translating consumer opportunities into strong technical options to ensure a strong innovation pipeline while delivering on eye and face strategies.
As a technical expert, you will partner with Marketing Innovation, EYES & Face formulation team, process development and packaging engineers to lead technical model development, new methods, and enabling translatable technologies. In addition will be required to provide technical leadership and support the development of COTY IP strategy.
Key Responsibilities
• Deliver technical expertise to formulation teams to shape development of superior consumer relevant performance products aligned to EYES & FACE strategy.
• Act as Icouncil R&D representative for EYES & FACE core strategic focus areas and develop technical strategy to build strength as a challenger in these segments.
• Enable translation of consumer needs and insights into technical opportunities and approaches
• Propose technically sound options to VP Color Cosmetics Consumer Beauty based on available data and consumer insights. Master the integration of multiple information to draw conclusions and risk assessments.
• Drive opportunities to leverage modelling & simulation capabilities for rapid learning and acceleration of programs to ensure a robust technical innovation pipeline.
• Influence the upstream developments I.e Basic Research with new white space opportunities and technology platforms.
• Develop improvements for R&D Innovation process or improve existing systems. Communicate & propose options to VP Color Cosmetics Consumer Beauty,
• Work across all R&D disciplines (process, analytical, packaging, etc..) as well as multifunctional teams to enable and drive eye & face innovation projects forward.
• Ability to technically coach others and support ongoing improvement plans aligned with chemist’s line manager.
• Comply with all company policies, procedures, safety, and GMP
• Understand the competitive landscape to define product design opportunities and technical solution
THE COTY IDEAL FIT
• Minimum of B.S. in Chemistry or Chemical Engineer or related science field
• High experience in consumer insights driven product/formula design or process development in an R&D environment
• High level of Technical expertise in related science such as pigmented emulsion chemistry, and rheology and consumer science and product performance understanding a must.
• Good understanding of basic principles of good experimental design, data analysis, and interpretation (DMAIC, QFD, DOE etc)
• Experience in FMCG is highly desired
• Must have high level of experience in technical Innovation design and be an expert creative thinker with ability to make connections
• Entrepreneurial and hands on spirit
• Excellent analytical and problem solving skills with an innate curiosity
• Passion for beauty
• Ability to collaborate and evolve in a matrix environment
