Overview
Support Division’s buying/merchandising organization. Establishes a plan based on assigned budgets and adjusts plans based on variables which develops a merchandise mix based on a formulated buy plan. Maintains in-season OTB process to minimize risk and seeks opportunities to achieve budgeted financial goals.
Responsibilities
• Analyzes sales and receipt of goods to create a plan based on assigned budgets and adjusts plans based on running rates
• Works with buying to build bottoms up plans.
• Analyze and provide reporting which provide information to show sales trends and exceptions
• Works with buyers, merchandisers to build bottoms up range plans
• Interact with buyers and merchandisers to analyze sales and receipt of goods
• Provides weekly, monthly market max plans to financial forecast
• Works with Director of Planning to ensure merchandise plan reflects trends, highlights sales, markdowns, receipt exposures and recommends effective solutions
• Coordinates all vendor related plans, forecasts, corporate requests.
• Projects weekly aged inventory performance.
• Review all reporting on capacity status, week and month level.
• Partners with Field Senior Executives to develop a merchandise mix and coordinate the buy plan with product a particular area needs for optimum performance
• Provides and creates Ad-Hoc reporting as requested
• Works with Buying, Merchandising to complete allocation fact sheets to ensure that the departmental strategic plans are being executed
• Create and maintain assortment ladder plans
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Partner with buying and merchandising team in order to maximize results
• Manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines while remaining flexible to change priorities
• Interface with Senior Executives and make recommendations
• Translate complex analysis into simple terms
• Obtain correct data needed for reporting and analysis
Qualifications
• Bachelor Degree with experience in the retail industry within a merchandising or planning function
• Must have experience in retail planning, forecasting and allocation
• Strong understanding of retail mathematical calculations and measures used in financial planning
• Software applications: Excel, Word and PowerPoint
• Planning Systems – Market Max
• Mainframe systems: DSS, QMF, TSO, Purchase Order System, GMS
• Knowledge of retail planning process
• Strong ability to be detailed oriented and analytical
• Excellent organizational skills
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks with tight deadlines
• Ability to communicate clearly with peers and upper management
