Reporting Relationship:The Assistant Production Manager is a key support role within Owned Brands reporting to the DVP, Sourcing & Production.

Major Responsibilities:
The Assistant Production Manager is responsible for support of the tracking of production process for the direct import business of a specific category (e.g. knits, woven or sweaters) for brands designed and developed in North America and sold under the Lord & Taylor, Hudson’s Bay, Saks Fifth Avenue, Saks OFF 5TH, Gilt, GALERIA Kaufhof, and GALERIA Inno banners. The Assistant Production Manager will manage vendor relationships including supporting the cost negotiations with vendors, and the management of the production process to ensure on time delivery of merchandise that meets or exceeds quality and delivery targets.
Role Responsibilities Include:
• Collaborate with sourcing agent on daily tracking of production process and internal partners (Tech/QA, Design, Merchandising, Operations) to resolve production issues in a timely manner.
• Support and drive seasonal production process including development of production calendar, calculation of target costs, and support cost negotiations.
• Support capacity planning by vendor and production reservation (as needed).
• Provide accurate summary recaps by business, category, and season for orders placed.
• Other tasks as required, e.g. revisions to purchase orders may include creation/maintenance tracking vendor matrix maintenance and PO revisions.
• Develop and maintain internal and external vendor relationships for specific category of business.
• Bachelor’s Degree
• 1-2 years of experience in production or sourcing; experience in sweaters, wovens, or cut & sew knits
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
• Understanding of the production process and partnering with overseas agent for successful outcomes
• Highly professional demeanor, organized, and accurate
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; a high level of proficiency in Excel is mandatory. Knowledge of Google office tools is a plus.
• Must be a problem solver and proactive in providing solutions
• Interact with a variety of cross-functional partners in an environment of constant change
