Build and lead a standardized, modern UX | UI practice at Carters: 45%
• Serve as the voice of the customer in all forums
• Develop the user experience and content management strategy for eCommerce ensuring consistency and high quality across all digital commerce and media platforms
• Partner with marketing and creative to develop and execute the personalization and user experience strategies for eCommerce
• Leverage a strong visual design background to enhance the customer experience and driving sales
• Ensure that implementation of creative assets and marketing remains cutting edge and steps ahead of our competition in both UI/UX interactive experiences
• Ensure all digital platforms adhere to brand design and U|X standards
• Coordinate and drive consensus across brands and functions to drive U|X excellence
• Remain current on emerging UX & UI trends and best practices.
Develop and lead the digital content management practice for eCommerce; inclusive of day-to-day activities as well as growth initiatives: 30%
• Responsible for gathering, understanding, and translating business requirements into digital experiences across multiple digital platforms including web, mobile, tablet, kiosk and social
• Lead the creation of content bundles within well-defined templates (using e-Spirit CMS). Determine how to apply them to our campaigns and segments to drive traffic and sales
• Establish and hold the team accountable to an optimal set of guidelines, templates, and business rules for the execution of content across all digital commerce platforms
• Identify opportunities to repurpose existing marketing assets into other forms of content; updating and modifying as needed
• Prioritize business requests with capacity; drive process efficiencies. Develop and implement best-in-class processes and resource utilization strategies
Aggressively pursue, identify, recommend, and implement U|X enhancements supporting eCommerce growth to full potential: 25%
• Develop and enhance our ability to elicit and act quickly upon customer feedback. Lead regular user insight testing
• Develop standardized operating procedures for regular site monitoring and maintenance as it relates to the user experience. Identify friction points and partner cross-functionally to review alternatives and implement improvements
• Continuously test and measure the effectiveness of site assets, content, and layouts. Create a process to continuously provide updates to channel partners on U|X opportunities
Experience and Skills
• Customer obsessed; with a passion for digital commerce and an eye for design detail
• Strategic thinker with the ability and inclination to be hands on, as needed
• Ability to lead courageously - not afraid to speak frankly, offer new ideas, take calculated risks, and support positive change
• Industry expert in leading visual and UX presentation and practices for apparel eCommerce
• Creative and customer focused; ability to develop practical yet innovative solutions
• Deep knowledge and experience in areas of responsive design and ecommerce
• Team player, first and foremost, with positive attitude and high level of initiative
• Strong interpersonal and problem solving skills necessary to interface with all levels of the organization
• Ability to communicate complex ideas in both technical and user-friendly language to all levels and departments within the organization
• Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high pressure environment
• Strong consensus builder who can eliminate barriers to achieving goals by way of influence and relationship building
• Degree in Graphic Design, Web Design, Human Computer Interaction or related field
• Demonstrated ability to balance brand creative with site features and functionality
• 5+ years of experience leading senior level teams in the interactive space or other relevant areas experience in a web-based corporation, interactive agency, or online retailer
• Experience successfully leading a content management practice
• Strong knowledge of web technologies and how to design for them; HTML, HTML 5, CSS, JavaScript, Flash, plus traditional desktop and mobile
• Excellent verbal, written, presentation and problem-solving skills.
• Proven experience transforming an end to end digital customer experience
• Proven experience using data and customer insights to influence cross functional business decisions
