Job Description
Title:Email Marketing Analyst
This role is focused primarily on creating successful email marketing campaigns with a focus on improving customer engagement and retention, and will continuously iterate and improve campaigns using data analysis and frequent A/B testing. GUESS has 4 brands, this person will be working across all brands.
Responsibilities:
• Email Set-up and Deploy: set up 6-12 emails daily in Salesforce Marketing Cloud and Adobe Campaign, including pasting and light editing of HTML code and javascript-based code for personalization & dynamic content, inputting subject line, sending test messages for approval, and scheduling deployments. GUESS has 4 brands, this person will be working across all brands.
• Database Segmentation:create segments for email campaigns using a drag-and-drop WYSIWYG tool in the ESP or by uploading a list, and splitting lists randomly for use in A/B tests. Create exclusions when multiple audiences overlap.
• Post-Deploy Campaign QA: ensure that all campaigns deployed successfully, to the correct segments and with good inbox placement and open rates. Use ReturnPath and reporting in the ESPs to check this.
• Assist with email campaign reporting:Confirm that all email campaigns are included in a weekly report, and perform minor work in Excel if need be.
Experience/Qualities Needed:
• 2-5 years’ experience setting up E-blast email campaigns and deployments in a major ESP such as Salesforce Marketing Cloud, (aka Exact Target) or Adobe Campaign, Responsys, Bronto, etc.
• Experience with personalization, dynamic content and A/B tests, and how to include them in a campaign.
• Familiarity with ReturnPath inbox delivery tools are preferred.
• Experience importing data, creating segment queries in a WYSIWYG tool, with exclusions and filters based on campaign requirements, or with randomized audience splits
• Acute attention to detail, for technical/data details, production process, and project requirements.
• Excel experience, inputting and editing cell content, formulas and pivot tables.
• Good interpersonal skills and able to communicate with large cross-functional team of Merchandisers, Copywriters, Designers and Executives. Technical Skills Required:
• HTML proficient, does not need to hand code from scratch, but to edit links, change graphics, etc, in an HTML editor.
Bonus Technical Skills:
• AMPscript, Salesforce Marketing Cloud’s proprietary scripting language
• CSS & Responsive Email Code
• Light SQL is an asset but not required
