Description
In partnership with our brands, regions, functions and channels, the individual in this role will:
• Oversee the end to end organization design and change management landscape of initiatives and activity within a critical business area
• Proactively monitor resourcing requirements against the initiative landscape and portfolio. Works with preferred 3rd party vendors on contracting and scoping for external services (as needed).
• Develop and maintain close partnerships and relationships with relevant HR Business partners and business clients. Liaise and collaborate with OD and Change Management colleagues working across other business areas (functions, regions, affiliates, channels) on integrated planning and alignment. Partner with OD Directors to scope and deliver OD projects, as needed
• Leverage Estee Lauder Companies (ELC) OD/OCM Methodology and tools/templates and drive continuous innovation to organization design and change management products and services. Leads training sessions as necessary to develop organizational capability in OD/OCM.
Organization Design
• In partnership with the OD colleagues, HRBPs and the business identify and scope OD projects. Work closely with OD Directors and HRBPs to scope, assess and diagnose organization design challenges and propose potential solutions. Includes proactively monitoring resourcing requirements against organization design needs.
Change Management
• Lead the deployment and execution of change management work on the most critical and transformational initiatives
• Proactively raises risks and issues with complementary solutions and next steps
• Develops and maintains a rolling stakeholder analysis of internal and external stakeholders, including historical context of change, biases, barriers, lessons learned, and pathways to success
• Facilitates workshops or working session
• Conducts Quality Assurance reviews of initiatives
This role is suited to a dynamic and adaptable learner with the desire to drive tangible results and who is able to forge strong partnerships, delivering through influencing and collaborating with others. Individuals in this role must have demonstrated abilities in relationship and engagement management with senior leaders, including project scoping and project management capabilities.
Individuals in this role should be comfortable applying new methodologies to organization design, process and change management, including team models, to achieve breakthrough results. A combination of skills and experience with a good portion of the following is required: organization performance diagnosis, organization design (STAR model), systems thinking, process and/or design thinking, change management, responsive / agile teaming, culture and behavior change functional capability building, external research and benchmarking, job design, group dynamics, group process facilitation, communication planning, survey/assessment design, and a strong proficiency analyzing data to gain insight into business performance.
• Portfolio Management: 20- 30%. Managing relationships with the key stakeholders, managing the mix of internal and external resources, scoping organization design and change management work and initiative roadmaps.
• Organization Design: 25- 30% In partnership with the OD colleagues, HRBPs and the business identify and scope OD projects. Work closely with OD Directors and HRBPs to scope, assess and diagnose organization design challenges and propose potential solutions. Includes proactively monitoring resourcing requirements against organization design needs.
• Change Management: 40-60%. Lead the deployment and execution of change management work on the most critical and transformational initiatives Includes proactively monitoring resourcing requirements against change management needs
• Capability Building. On-demand tools and support. 15-20%. The director is involved in developing and deploying tools, tutorials, and frameworks to support the business and HRBPs, enabled by regular experiential training sessions and advisory support.
Qualifications
• Undergraduate, Masters or related degree preferred
• English Required
• 5-10 years Org Design, Org Effectiveness, and Change Management consulting experience (internal or external)
Deep experience leading planning, strategy and execution of organizational design (including process) and transformational change management is essential as is the ability to act as a change agent, influence broad populations and apply varied expertise to the right situations. The director will be expected to lead global, brand, functions and regional projects independently, coach others, and provide thought leadership and creative ideas to help evolve our OE function.
Strong organizational, presentation, execution and analysis skills. Must be comfortable and effective in an influence role where you must understand how to influence with both logic and emotion for improvement and change. The director must be both customer, business, process and people focused. Must be a demonstrated team player, open to feedback, and passionate about collaborating with a team to develop and adapt approaches that win in the work place and in the business.
