Overview
Vendor management is a discipline that enables organizations to control costs, drive service excellence, and mitigate risks to gain increased value from their vendors throughout the vendor life cycle. This position will help Foot Locker uncover opportunities working closely with IT and business partners to better understand their vendor’s marketplace allowing the organization to ensure alignment of goals, continue education of industry trends, build and maintain vendor partnerships, and mitigate risk to ensure that maximum value of those relationships is realized over time.
The Market Research Intern is responsible for researching and evaluating third-party providers of digital marketing and IT technologies and services. The researcher may have to monitor many moving projects simultaneously.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Gain insight into marketplace research and analysis on emerging technologies in areas like mobile, personalization, IT infrastructure, in store and online merchandising, social, cross-channel marketing, and big data.
• Manage projects by conducting research to measure vendors similarly against business requirements and present the analysis to decision makers. Activities may include researching vendors within a marketplace, building the business requirements into a Request for Information (RFI), scheduling and leading meetings, and presenting the final analysis to leadership.
• Understand project management aspects of the business.
• Participate on a Foot Locker intern project led by business mentors. At the close of the internship, the team will present their findings to the executive team.
• Other duties may be assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Current student with a Junior or Senior standing pursuing a Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Finance, or Economics; or a recent graduate (within the last 12 months).
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
