DIRECTOR, GLOBAL MARKETING
COTY is looking for smart leaders who are fast and passionate. In an effort to reinforce the business and the desirability of a major beauty brand, we seek a marketing professional to be responsible for the strategic development of a fragrance business globally. Along with the Senior Vice President of the brand, the global marketing director will play a leadership role in providing strategic guidance and marketing thought to deliver the most effective and innovative marketing plans for its scope, including new launches and existing portfolio.
The director will lead all cross-functional teams on all projects internally, and the multiple creative partners externally, to deliver robust and innovative launch pipelines, along with effective and high-quality go-to-market programs.
This position will develop the career paths of supporting planning staff, as well as play an integral role in supporting and delivering company values and goals on a daily basis. The director will effectively leverage experience, knowledge and skills to encourage innovative thinking and set challenging team goals and objectives balancing brand, company and team needs.
The director will work directly with the brand owner, the license, managing the relationship with its counter-part and the approval process regarding communication campaigns, packaging design and fragrance development.
COTY is seeking a well-rounded marketing professional with experience in the fragrance development, ideally with a background in selective distribution, to lead and evolve the brand presence globally, aligned to the broader strategies and objectives of the business.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Lead the strategic development, from conception to execution
• Assist the Senior Vice President in the development of the 3 to 5 year business plan.
• Develop global marketing calendars and cohesive 360 programs.
• Work closely with market research team to plan and execute yearly studies (for new launches)
• Regularly present to senior management, retailers and international internal meetings.
• Provide direction and spearhead the development with all necessary cross functional teams on assigned categories/projects including: product development, packaging, creative, digital/social, communications, education, and global brand supply chain.
• Work with Finance to insure all programs are supported in a fiscally responsible manner.
• Lead the fragrance development process with the core-listed fragrance houses.
• Align and engage cross-functional teams in the vision to drive the successful development of launches.
• Provide affiliates with appropriate, timely information regarding all the projects.
• Cultivate close collaborative relationships with all internal and external teams.
• Work closely with Global Trade Marketing and all affiliate markets to ensure programs meet the channel and / or market needs.
• Liaise regularly with cross-functional teams to insure programs meet objectives, are on time, and that cost and budget guidelines are met.
• Develop strong relationship with licensor team, and manage approval process.
• Manage and is responsible for the performance of Direct Reports including on-time performance and accuracy of projects.
• Coach and develop direct report’s talents by providing constructive feedback and specific action steps to help him/her reach his/her highest level of contribution.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• 10 years of related marketing experience
• Undergraduate degree required. MBA a plus
• Prestige/luxury brand experience preferred
• Should demonstrate a passion for the fragrance business
• Must have the potential to assume increased responsibility
• Needs to exhibit a keen ability to conceptualize new products, analyze competitive activity, and formulate recommendations to grow the business.
• Must be an excellent team player; possessing the ability to build, foster and nurture strong relationships and gain the respect of members of the cross-functional and affiliate teams.
• Must be mature, responsible, accountable, organized and must possess the potential to manage and develop direct reports
• Must possess excellent oral and written communication, analytical, creative and computer skills.
