JanSport: Vice President, Sales
As a member of the JanSport Executive Leadership Team and as head of the Sales Management Team; this position provides leadership and vision to drive product sales by planning, controlling and directing the activities of JanSport's U.S.andInternational market sales team to attain maximum sales volume and profitability. Provides dynamic, visible and inspirational leadership to positively impact business initiatives, direction and vision for the team. Accountable for business results, profit & loss, executing key initiatives, global distribution model, segmentation strategy and establishing control-related standards and procedures. Qualified candidates bring a track record in managing a successful business and proven experience in strategic sales and business planning.
Key Responsibilities:
• Overall responsibility for the profitable sales growth of the JanSport Brand in US and International markets.
• Provide support to Canada and Mexico Teams utilizing VF Platforms.
• Manage all aspects of business relationships with current and prospective US customers and international distributors.
• Responsible for analyzing current business, forecasting future growth and communicating with Operations Team to ensure alignment.
• Collaborate with Product Teams to provide input for future line development.
• Develop, manage and execute seasonal go to market strategies.
• Manage seasonal order books (territory, product category and SMU process).
• Monitor shipment of seasonal order book. Partner with Finance and Operations for forecast review (monthly & full year) to include risk/opportunity analysis.
• Lead, mentor and coach sales team members.
• Execute bi-annual Sales Meetings.
• Partner with Sr. Management in strategic planning processes for the Brand.
Requirements:
• 10+ years' related professional experience with progressive sales and sales management experience preferably in the outdoor equipment and/or apparel market.
• 5+ years' people management experience.
• Bachelor's Degree in Business or related field.
• Experience working with product development and product merchandising teams.
• Demonstrated ability to work with and inspire a broad range of individuals to work toward a common goal.
• Track record in re-establishing procedures, leading change, implementing key sales initiatives and executing processes.
• Excellent communication skills (oral, written and presentation).
• Highly analytical and strategic.
• Proven sales management track record of achieving goals.
• Consumer understanding and competitive market knowledge in the outdoor industry.
• Experience in managing a diverse and creative group of individuals.
• Strong P&L financial management skills.
• Excellent organizational skills.
