Senior Director of Field Operations - adidas US Retail
Purpose
Responsible for profitable and sustainable market share growth for all adidas stores in the US, as well as developing and executing all field initiatives and strategies.
Cultivate a high-performance culture, in which team member development is highly prioritized, talent and succession plans are clearly identified and communicated, and leaders are cross-functionally promoted internally in to progressive opportunities within retail, ecommerce, Wholesale, Brand Marketing, Digital Marketing, Centers of Excellence, etc.
In collaboration with the VP-Retail, this position will create direction for the region’s retail stores that is consistent with the Company’s overall strategic initiatives. This position will ensure the elements comprising the Company’s mission and core values are consistently communicated through the retail stores and the store environment reflects those commitments. This position will ensure consistent implementation of all Company processes and programs while maintaining flexibility to respond to future business needs and directives. Most importantly, this position is responsible for ensuring a consistent and rewarding shopping experience for the Company’s retail customers.
Key Responsibilities
• Ensure the adidas US’s retail strategy is implemented throughout the entire division.
• Enhance profitability across all US stores, analyze sales and anticipate sales trends, coordinate sales plans, pricing, inventory distribution and staffing. Work with retail leaders responsible for inventory assortment, supply planning, visual merchandising, distribution, operational support and marketing to develop tactical action plans to support the Company’s sales and merchandise strategy.
• Create a culture of accountability by ensuring that operational metrics are achieved, on-shelf availability is maximized, budgeted expenses are attained, and standard operating procedures are consistently followed.
• Proactively partner and align with other Field Operations leads on best practices for in-store implementation and multi-unit leader accountability related to field processes and programs.
• Responsible for ensuring own department, as well as cross-functional departments, are aware of and actively pursuing the strategic goals for retail.
• Visit stores to evaluate business operations and develop solutions to current operating practices to increase brand awareness, productivity, workflow, and profitability.
• Motivate, coach, and lead multi-unit leaders to achieve targets/plans.
• Work with Field Directors and District Leaders and Human Resources (HR) staff to support stores in the hiring, evaluation, motivation and recognition of store employees to achieve and maintain a high-performance culture.
• Lead the multi-unit leaders in the development and implementation of training programs for retail store staff, addressing product knowledge, sales skills, and customer service/engagement.
• Develop and train ‘next level of leadership’ in the organization in anticipation of future needs of the business.
• Work with Merchandising & Visual Merchandising groups to create effective feedback sessions regarding merchandise assortments and inventory levels.

• Good working knowledge of MS Office applications (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
• Ability to prioritize amongst many competing priorities to ensure that short-term goals supporting long-term initiatives are achieved with an appropriate sense of urgency.
• Able to adapt quickly and react positively to business needs and changes in strategies.
• Ability to create trusting relationships through the personal display of integrity; operates in accordance with their expressed values and commitments.
• Ability to travel up to 70% of the time, in some cases with limited to no notice.
Qualifications
1. A bachelor’s degree in Business or Marketing from a four-year college or university, MBA preferred.
2. Minimum 10 years’ retail management experience with at least 5 of those years in a senior level field retail leadership position.
3. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.
