Category Sales Manager, Womens APLA
Description
As our APLA Category Sales Manager for Womens, you will play a significant role in delivering the right products, to the right consumer, at the right time, to the marketplace. You’ll interface with category teams, Distributors teams and customers as well. You’ll be part of a team whose primary accountability will be to identify consumer opportunities and trends in the marketplace and ensure we capitalize on these opportunities.
As the Category Sales Manager, you will:
• Develop and execute quarterly, annual and long term plans that deliver category targets and creating a strong distribution across APLA territories and Distributors.
• Develop annual and seasonal sales target/forecast for the category – Women and Young Athletes and set clear and developmental seasonal targets for the sales force
• Identify, track and manage key performance indicators for the category
• Drive category business progress from gross futures to net revenues
• Generate an in-depth understanding of the category: consumer trends, market size development, retail development, competition, retail landscape
• Define with merchandisers the product gaps in the category product line and develop seasonal account/door differentiated assortments
• Deliver category sales strategy and priority objectives.
• Provide consumer and market insights to inform the preparation for and execution of all category game plan gates.
• GTM leadership through preparation and delivery of compelling and inspirational assortments, tools and integrated presentations.
• Leverage cross-functional partnerships to facilitate and enable the field sales team to confidently drive category offense with APLA Distributors
• Partner with category Brand and RB to influence the overall consumer digital and retail experience.
• Leverage Sales Operations to add value through timely, comprehensive and concise communication.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Communication or related field
• 2 years of additional experience in lieu of a degree
• 2- 5 years Account Management / field sales experience
• Must understand the competitive market, customers and retail trends
• Must have the ability to use financial data to make decisions and maximize account profitability
• Must have the ability to understand complex business issues, find creative solutions, and make sound decisions
• Strong understanding of sales processes, policies, and procedures
• Strategic Account and Regional Sales experience with large volume
• Category sport experience preferred
• Proven ability to create and drive strategic business planning
• Financial / budget management. Proven ability to create and manage a budget
• Corporate Matrix experience and ability to influence outcomes through networking & negotiating
• Presenting to groups, including senior leaders
• Must have experience working in a dynamic and fast paced environment
• Must have exceptional communication skills, including the abilities to elicit information, actively listen, dialogue freely, verbalize ideas effectively, negotiate tense situations successfully and manage and resolve conflict
• Must be able to communicate effectively with clear, concise written messages through e-mails and reports
• Strong understanding of retail math, seasonal assortment planning, business planning, retailer relationships and the leadership product process
• Strong understanding of NIKE product lines preferred
• Ability to travel up to 40% of time
