Field Sports (American Football) Brand Marketing Manager, North America
Description
As a Field Sports (American Football) Brand Manager, you will assist in the planning and execution of category and seasonal initiatives for Nike Football that drive brand strength, fuel consumer demand and strengthen our connection with consumers. You will be the voice of the Football consumer and protector of the brand. You will work closely with a cross functional team including the Category team (product, merchandising, sales, etc.), Digital Marketing, Retail Marketing, Communications, Sports Marketing and Territory Marketing teams to develop strategic marketing plans and briefs. You will work with these teams to identify influencers, stay current on market trends and complete the field-work/research needed for the plans.
You will assist in the gathering of information, communication and progress on Football initiatives and in leading categorical and seasonal event execution that ensures excellence with functional and territory teams. You will also support the Integrated Marketing process for Football and assist in leading processes that enable timely and effective execution by cross-functional business teams. In addition, you will partner with finance to track expenses against each assigned budget and work closely with the Demand Planning and Inventory Management teams to place product buys and ensure timely product delivery for program and plan execution.
Qualifications
Required:
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing or a related discipline
• 5 years' experience in consumer marketing or related experience in marketing strategy, marketing planning, marketing implementation, retail merchandising, display and consumer servicing and events execution
◦ 2 years' additional experience in lieu of degree
• Strong knowledge of athletic industry and trends in the marketplace
• Understand the competitive market, customers and retail trends
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, including meeting facilitation and presentations
• Demonstrated leadership capability, including ability to motivate and mentor others within a work group
• Ability to lead initiatives and project teams
• Ability to balance creativity with organization and discipline in fast moving, ambiguous environment
Preferred:
• Marketing experience targeted to a variety of different consumers with a strong understanding of cultural trends
• Passion and/or expertise for Football category
• Strong understanding of the Nike matrix and product lines
