Description
The primary role of the Visual Merchandising Director is to oversee the development and execution of global visual merchandising elements, guidelines, tools, communication, and in-store experience, ensuring consistency and high visual standards that represents the brand image and brand equity throughout all channels of TOM FORD BEAUTY.
• Self-starter on creating designs to support overall brand strategy and storytelling
• Ensure adherence to brand guidelines in own work
• Identify applications of new digital technologies (e.g. screens in store) to enhance in-store and omnichannel experience
• Propose ways new technologies could be implemented in-store
• Design and create distortion across various consumer touchpoints
• Collaborate with other creative departments as needed (Package Design, 2D/Digital)
• Provide Global visual direction that can translate global merchandising initiatives to all Regions.
• Communicate regularly and maintain positive working relationships with Regional Visual Merchandising teams.
• Work closely and collaboratively across all brand functions and teams; Global Marketing, Development, Commercial, and Regional teams.
• Drive the creation of conceptual approaches that address global in-store experience initiatives.
• Present to upper management, Marketing, Regions and Licensor
• Lead Regional conference calls and meetings
• Create all VM elements, events and windows globally.
• Create and roll- out comprehensive in store events, in partnership with our Head of Events.
• Develop all global schematics and guidelines
• Liaise with the Store Design department to assist with the development of merchandising schematics for all new locations.
• Manage the development of all VM strategy calendars.
• Partner with Global Marketing to maintain proper merchandising initiatives based on each market’s lineup.
• Plan, Design, develop and roll- out tester units and fixtures.
• Manage and lead a team of 2
• Apply knowledge of competitive landscape and trends
Qualifications
• Some experience with technical drawings, 3D renderings, specific tools (e.g. InDesign, Photoshop and 3D modeling software)
• Some materials, manufacturing, and installation execution knowledge
• BA or BFA preferred.
• 8 or more years in Global Luxury brand, retail, and in- store of graphic and/or event design experience preferred.
