THE PURPOSE:
As the Marketing Automation and Email Production Specialist, you will support the e-commerce team by executing day-to-day production of marketing emails and setting up automated email campaigns utilizing our email service provider and other tools as required. This is a technical role focused on optimizing our production process, enabling more customized and personalized messaging to customers, significantly enhancing our use of triggered and automated messaging and helping us maximize the capabilities of our email service provider and other marketing tools related to email. Email marketing is a critical channel for True Religion and this will be a highly visible and important role.
THE ROLE (what you are accountable for)
• HTML production of email sends in collaboration with design and marketing teams.
• Technical buildout of automated and triggered transactional and nurture emails using Salesforce Marketing Cloud, SmarterHQ or similar tools including SQL queries, and collaboration with internal and external technical resources
• Execution of A/B testing
• Implementation of enhanced audience segmentation and personalization in email programs
• Assist with roll-out of international expansion as needed
YOU ARE:
• Well-versed in the technical aspects of email marketing including coding emails, building automated campaigns, integrating dynamic content within emails, deliverability including IP warmup
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where strategies or campaigns can quickly shift as business needs warrant
• Comfortable working with and communicating with a diverse team including marketing, design, IT and outside vendors
• Cool under pressure during crunch times like Black Friday/Cyber Monday
• Constantly seeking out ways to become more efficient and to enhance programs – not satisfied with the status quo
REQUIRED MINIMUM EXPERIENCE
• 2-4 years experience with email production for e-commerce companies with high-frequency, highly segmented email campaigns, both automated and one-time blasts
• Expertise with at least one enterprise-level ESP such as Salesforce Marketing Cloud (ExactTarget), Oracle Responsys, IBM Watson (Silverpop), Marketo, etc. including campaign building, content management and automated campaign management.
• Built automated triggered email campaigns from start to finish within an enterprise ESP and/or marketing automation system such as SmarterHQ
• Solid HTML and CSS skills with an understanding of the challenges of coding for emails
• Basic SQL skills, ideally utilizing SQL to pull recurring data segments for an email service provider
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where strategies or campaigns can quickly shift as business needs warrant
• Experience with email deliverability tools such as ReturnPath and familiarity with deliverability best-practices
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
• Deep experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud including use of Content Builder and Automation Studio
• Experience writing complex SQL queries to enable automations or segmentation in Salesforce Marketing Cloud or similar email service provider
• Experience with marketing automation tools such as SmarterHQ, NectarOM or similar
• Ability to code HTML emails from scratch (not just modifying an existing template)
• Experience with email programs operating in multiple countries/languages
