THE PURPOSE:
The E-commerce Merchandise Plannerdevelops the Retail Open to Buy, Seasonal Buys, and Assortment Plans on a seasonal, semi-annual, and annual basis. The Planner is responsible for aligning the merchandise plans by division, department and class, with the financial budget. The position is responsible for the planning and forecasting of sales, inventory, and receipts to coincide with the financial objectives of the company. The position is responsible for aiding in the achievement of financial goals and achievement of annual sales growth by product category.
The position works closely with buying teams on creating the assortment/buy plans based on historical information and trend analysis, setting benchmarks by product category as growth, maintain, or declining sales vehicles. Also works closely with ecommerce and marketing teams relaying pricing and promo strategies and collaborating on marketing calendar.
THE ROLE (what you are accountable for)
• Retail OTB: Assist in the creation and maintenance of the Retail OTB. Partner with Management and Finance work groups to tie all forecasting to company-wide goals and accountability.
• At a Department/class level, collaborate with merchandising to ensure that financial objectives align with product opportunities.
• Guide the merchandising team, utilizing historical data and current trends, to capitalize on new opportunities, and identify risks. Communicate opportunities and risks to key business partners including merchandising, finance, marketing, visual, and brand leaders.
• Create seasonal buy strategies and assortment plans by product category and communicate/partner with the buying staff to appropriately project product potential and life cycle.
• Identify product pricing and transfer opportunities based on product performance and intended life cycle.
• Assist in running of weekly reports, analyze to identify trends, communicate chase opportunities to buying team and partner as necessary with production to ensure delivery dates.

REQUIRED MINIMUM EXPERIENCE
• Bachelor’s degree in Merchandising or related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of planning experience in a fast-paced retail company
• Knowledge of production flow and operations.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Proven organizational skills and multi-task oriented.
• Exceptional problem solving /decision making skills.
• Requires Open-to-Buy, inventory turn and gross margin experience.
• High level of experience and proficiency in Excel.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
• A keen eye for fashion/trend analysis.
• E-commerce Planning experience.
• Knowledge of Google analytics and E-commerce metrics such as Demand and Conversion.
