The VM activation support serve as right hand to the Director of VM in Americas in supporting the Field VM team to achieve their objective of ensuring the brand meets the customer in all physical points of sales in a consistent and appealing way, to increase sell-through at focus store in the immediate term as well as contribute to build the brand and hence also drive sales in the long term.
This includes creating mock-stores, trade show booths and, when applicable – complement Global VM Guidelines with Regional guidelines.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Support activation of VM guidelines
• Support FVMs in how to translate global VM guidelines to specific stores (e.g. size or assortment)
• Based on the overall Global VM guidelines: Create complementing VM guidelines for regional needs not covered by global organization (e.g. if specific regional events or regional products not covered by global guidelines)
• Synthesize feedback to marketplace activation teams by brand on how to make guidelines more useful for Americas market
Mock Store (All Brands):
• Set-up Seasonal mock-up stores
• For regional specific products not covered by global VM-guidelines: Complement with Regional VM guidelines for in-store and windows (visually and financially attractive)
Trade Show Booths (Platform, Agenda, Surf Expo, Outdoor Retail, and Vision East):
• Based on available consumer facing VM solutions: Set-up visual concepts, displays, and space décor
• Sourcing of props
• Setup/Breakdown
Training Responsibilities
• Tailor global training material for sales staff to regional needs (training material on brand and product knowledge)
• Collaborate closely with global Training manager to ensure any regional developed material that can be globally applicable is shared
• Ensure FVM-teams gets proper training and feedback needs on training material to Training manager in Market place activation team
• Assist in training of store managers and store associates on the brand and the products
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE/SKILLS/EDUCATION:
• At least 3 years of visual merchandising and store operations experience
• Strong merchandising skills and a strong understanding of fashion/trends in market(s)
• Bachelor’s Degree in a Business-related, Apparel Merchandising, and/or Apparel Design field
• In lieu of a degree, at least three years of experience in any of the above would be considered
• Proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Knowledge of Adobe creative suite is a plus
• Demonstrates strong written and verbal communication skills, public speaking is part of the role
• Must be able to remain self-motivated and work effectively in an unsupervised setting
• Ability to demonstrate expertise in field marketing through a portfolio of work or strong references
• Must own reliable transportation and have a valid Driver License and auto insurance
• Requires flexible hours based on the needs of the business
• Must be willing and able to move ladders, fixtures, etc.; must be willing and able to climb and stand atop a ladder
• Must be able to lift 30-50 pounds
