Design Assistant, Women's Hard Wovens

Position Description:
Vince is currently seeking a Design Assistant, Women’s Hard Wovens to join our LA Design team. This position will provide design support for the Hard Wovens Designer. The incumbent is responsible for the creation and maintenance of all hard wovens sketches, development tech packs, record keeping, and cross functional communication for the Women’s Hard Wovens Design team.
Organizational Structure:
The Design Assistant, Women’s Hard Wovens reports directly to Women’s Hard Wovens Designer.
Responsibilities
• Assist in concept and research development for seasonal deliveries
• Update line sheets and facilitate work flow as needed
• Assist in developing CAD illustrations for artwork and re-coloration as needed
• Create flat hand sketches for all hard woven presentation boards and tech packs
• Attend fittings and keep records as related to updated styles and tech packages
• Update BOMs with all pertinent fabric and trim info
• Update and maintain seasonal color development and sketch binders
• Schedule and coordinate meetings with cross functional partners as needed
• Evaluate and maintain pertinent files and records, databases and other records
• Review Sketches with Design Director and create tech packages
• Work with pattern makers and sample room to create mock ups on fabric that will translate to real, dimensional garments
• Assist in the sourcing and approval of fabric samples, lab dips, strike-off's and other development materials
• Follow up with cross functional departments on all sourcing and development materials
• Provide support and assist the Women’s Hard Wovens Division, during peak seasonal deliveries
• Responsible for organizing and maintaining periodicals, artwork, garments and trims
• Follow up and coordinate all ongoing projects in order to meet stated deadlines
• Performs additional duties and assignments, as requested
Qualifications
• Must have a two-year AAS or College degree in Design
• Must have a minimum of two to four (2-4) years of experience in Women’s Hard Wovens Design
• Must have strong hand sketching abilities to do sketch updates during and after fittings
• Must have excellent working knowledge of excel, Illustrator and Photoshop
• Must have excellent interpersonal skills with demonstrated success in both written and verbal communication
• Must be a team player, have ability to manage multiple projects with strict deadlines and take initiative
• Strong time management skills and ability to prioritize workload in order to meet all objectives and allow the various initiatives of the Design department to be accomplished in a timely manner
• Must be detail oriented individual and a strong self-starter
• Must be able to take direction. This position requires incumbent to establish effective work relationships across multiple levels and functions
• Ability to work under pressure in an environment of constant shifting priorities and change
