Specific Responsibilities
The Director of HRIS/Benefits is responsible for oversight of HR technology systems and employee benefits for all West Coast operations. This position will focus on HRIS data integrity, reporting and audits along with the day-to-day administration of employee benefits along with various HRIS and benefits project based work. The position will take an active role in actively managing vendor relationships.
• Responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of HRIS and other databases.
• Gain a firm understanding on all HR system software and functionality (reporting, re, Performance Management, Org Charts).
• Assist in the review and evaluation of HRIS processes and procedures. Collaborate with functional and technical staff, both internal and external, to achieve desired results.
• Maintain HR and payroll data integrity in the systems by running queries, analyzing data, and creating and running various audits.
• Act as the West Coast HRIS Subject matter expert. Assist with training on processes and new software functionality.
• Deep understanding of employee benefit programs such as retirement plans; medical, dental, vision plans; life insurance plans; leave programs; and wellness programs.
• Communicate and interface with team members, benefit plan consultants, vendors, legal advisors and administrators regarding benefit policies, eligibility and coverage issues, and enrollment procedures.
• Develop benefits information and statistical and census data for actuaries, insurance carriers and management.
• Handles escalated benefit inquiries to ensure equitable, courteous resolution.
• Ensure benefit programs remain compliant.
• Oversees leave of absence records and process with third party FMLA/disability carriers and vendors.
• The ability to design and develop communication around benefits related topics.
• Participate in corporate initiatives that support the global population from a HRIS and benefits perspective.
• Manages a group of HRIS and Benefits professionals located on the West Coast.
• Other duties as assigned.
Skills and Requirements
• Minimum of 10 years of HRIS and benefits administration experience.
• Minimum of 7 years of reporting/data analysis desirable.
• Extremely high level of attention to detail.
• Proven ability to lead and motivate others.
• High level of technical aptitude.
• Experience administrating ADP software or other HRIS.
• Excellent in excel.
• Ability to organize and review large sums of data.
• Ability to multitask.
• Ability to communicate effectively (written and verbal).
• High level of confidentiality and discretion is required.
• Ability to travel up to 25% of the time.
• Bachelor’s Degree from four-year college or University.
• Professional in Human Resources (PHR) or Certified Benefit Professional (CBP) Certification (Preferred).
