General Summary:
The Sr. eCommerce Channel Analyst position is the expert in each assigned marketplace and will independently track, analyze, and report key performance indicators for the specific online marketplace. This position will monitor assigned online marketplaces to understand trends and changes within the marketplace to proactively respond to changes and make recommendations to maximize sales. This position is responsible for understanding how each assigned marketplace channel functions from the customer’s perspective including ask the seller a question, transactional emails and customer feedback. The Sr. eCommerce Channel Analyst will train and mentor other members of the Marketplace team.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Train and mentor Marketplace Analysts
• Plan, outline, and execute high risk projects and tasks for 40+ marketplaces (e.g. eBay, Amazon, Overstock, etc.), such as inventory filter and label management, pricing rule creation and editing, etc. that could affect inventory levels and/or sales on a day to day basis
• Collaborate with other ShoeMetro departments and the Marketplace department to complete projects such as catalog data cleanup, marketplace launch, etc.
• Project Manage:
◦ Prioritize tasks as communicated from management
◦ Delegate tasks to appropriate departments
◦ Outline rollout strategies to limit/avoid risk
◦ Monitor project and task progress within Marketplace department to ensure deadlines are met
• Practice independent decision making for high risk tasks and projects being the expert for the marketplaces to which you’re assigned or backup
• Track and analyze sales to pinpoint any issues or opportunities
• Suggest action items to maximize sales, not limited to marketplace actions but merchandising and marketing actions as well
• Monitor inventory data feeds to marketplaces to ensure inventory availability is maximized
• Responsible for ownership of marketplace compliance for assigned marketplaces
• Monitor performance dashboards and ensures that company is abiding by all marketplace policies and guidelines
• Work with Customer Service to identify issues and risk of suspension
• Collaborate with necessary departments to create and submit suspension appeals
Required Skills and Competencies:
Minimum Qualifications
• Advanced level understanding of Top 5 marketplaces (e.g. ShoeMetro.com, eBay, Amazon, Overstock.com, Jet.com, Newegg.com), in addition to other assigned marketplaces
• Intermediate level understanding of all other marketplaces and ability to step in and manage (maintenance tasks, promotion execution, updating settings, etc.) in the assigned Marketplace Analyst’s absence
• Exceptional troubleshooting problem solving skills
• Excellent project management skills
• Ability to work in a professional manner, be flexible, and handle interactions with all levels of the organization and with external clients
• Ability to represent the marketplace team/department and communicate necessary information to senior management in sales and alignment meetings
• Demonstrated understanding of data flow through inventory and order management systems, ROP, feed manager, ChannelAdvisor, and marketplaces
• Advanced knowledge of marketplace compliance
Experience:
• 2-3 years prior experience as Marketplace Channel Analyst
• Applied ecommerce knowledge of eBay, Amazon, and other online sales channels
• Experience writing and organizing SOPs, white papers, and other process documentation required
• Familiarity with selling through online third party marketplaces (Amazon, Ebay, Overstock)
Preferred Qualifications
• Project management certification
• 2+ years ERP interface experience
Education:
• B.S. from a four-year college or university preferred
