Bass, among others is seeking an Associate dress designer to join it's team based on New York City is seeking a Director of Merchandising/Sales to join it's team based in New York City.
Responsibilities
• Analyze trends and selling data to create seasonal line direction and collaborate with design on color, print and sku assortments
• Identify needs of specific retailers to ensure line plan incorporates each individual business’ needs, both full-line and off-price
• Collaborate with design team on initial sketches, trims, proto review and sales sample progress
• Maintain merchandising and production calendar and anticipate any delivery concerns.
• Merchandise and price the line pre-market and build suggested all-door and top-door assortments
• Maintain and develop retail partnerships across North America and globally to continue to grow the business
• Strategize on key decisions with retailers to make adjustments and react in-season to product on floor.
• Work with visual team to create fixture packages and in-store visuals.
• Partner with marketing/photography on semi-annual brand photoshoots for images
• Create seasonal brand books for in-store merchandising teams and store coordinators
• Travel out to stores to review white space opportunities and visual merchandising opportunities
• Partner with planning to assess profitability of each business
• Secure seasonal sales plans, and seek ways to increase sales while maintaining profitability
• Create and maintain divisional sales plan and make quarterly adjustments based on business changes.
• Review cuttings with production, planning inventory opportunities for in-season business and special cuts
• Partner with production team to ensure delivery is on schedule
• Travel to stores for sample shopping and trend research
• Travel to Asia for line development, sourcing and factory visits
• Manage marketing and coop budgets both for retailers and in-house
• Manage the brand image across retail channels to ensure a singular brand message
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree
• Minimum of 10 years industry experience
• Ability to travel
