GENERAL FUNCTION The Service Quality Director leads quality improvement, quality system implementation, process validation execution/sustainment, lens verification execution, lens stability program execution & improvement, quality system oversight, and leads applying for & achieving ISO certification for the largest lens manufacturing facility in the Luxottica RxO Global network. The Service Quality Director redesigns the quality organization into a new model of Quality Engineers being used in the Sedico (Italy) Plant, performs deep data analysis & uses statistical tools to deliver total quality improvement as defined via internal and external quality metrics.
Additionally, the Service Quality Director leads the Network documentation specialist team to drive documentation standardization across critical processes in manufacturing for all RxO plants, including efficient use of Filebound to deliver visibility of the documents.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Leads the Plant Quality Team’s organizational redesign & subsequently leads team into a high performance team.
• Leads Total Quality (Breakage & Store Rejects) improvement activity.
• Leads development & execution of the site’s Total Quality improvement action plan.
• Leads brand interactions & communications related to quality to establish credibility via development/improvement/execution of high quality product standards that ensure delivery of right quality to retail stores including internal Luxottica brands as well as external Wholesale stores.
• Leads ISO certification & sustainment using ISO 2015 requirements.
• Leads plant process/equipment & lens (NPI) validation process.
• Leads execution, improvement and sustainment of the Lens Stability (RLS) & FDA testing program.
• Leads network documentation team to deliver documentation requirements across RxO while driving compliance to Tier 2 documentation.
• Leads process validation process at the facility to ensure new equipment/lines deliver committed quality results.
• Leads support to site training via documentation development/enhancement priority.
• Leads quality portion of the NPI program for the facility (Verification Program).
• Leads quality budgeting and goal establishment for the facility.
• Leads assurance that all Tier 3 documentation is in compliance with Tier 2 procedures for the facility.
• Leads data acquisition & analysis improvements to enable efficient data penetration through Data Analyst position resulting in breakage/reject improvement by leveraging LMS, Jaspersoft, Excel, Filebound and other software.
• Leads new product introduction (NPI) quality.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
• BS degree in Engineering, Science, Business or equivalent
• 10+ years of experience in manufacturing and/or quality area
• Lean Six Sigma understanding & experience
• ISO understanding & experience
• Optical knowledge & experience
• Strong leadership & communication skills
• Strong organizational and follow through skills
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Ability to design and improve work systems
• Microsoft Office, in particular, Excel (pivot tables, chart creation, data manipulation), Power Point & Microsoft Project
• Data analysis skills
• Knowledge of GMP & Documentation Systems
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Masters
• Optical experience as an Optician - ABO Certified
• Lean Six Sigma – Green or Black Belt
• Jaspersoft & LMS knowledge
• Excel expertise – data manipulation & analysis
