Purpose of Role
• Lead and develop 360’ marketing campaigns based on EU strategy and creative execution to drive brand height (connect, engage, inspire) and help sell in and sell thru to reach local market’s KPIs (revenue, margin, traffic and conversion)
• Build a seasonal local GTM calendar, thru the GTM process, incl. detailed marketing activities (media plan, PR, digital, events, windows and in store) for wholesale and DTC
• Manage local suppliers for PR, seeding and local events
• Work closely with local sale team to capture needs, lead marketing support and manage budget expectations
• Ensure co-op activities are based on brand campaign and execute KA bespoke campaigns
• Develop media recommendation and measurements to central team to allow central media buy
• Attend EU meetings following the GTM and Sales calendar and be responsible for aligning the local needs
• Manage local budget with monthly check points and grant an accurate accrual process by the end of the year. UK Marketing budget in 2017: +2 Million.
• Manage the Trade Marketing Coordinator: set objectives, be a role model and draw an individual developing plan
• Organize weekly meetings with the local VM Supervisor to grant alignment on windows and in store storytelling execution, events and fairs opportunities
• Evaluate executed plans, according to pre-defined KPI’s, and share insights and conclusion to make fact base decisions towards future seasons.
• Play an active role in the wider Marketing team (6 Country Marketing managers)
PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Advertising
• Understand the company strategy and direction
• Support EMEA Marketing team to create a media planning brief that will be submitted to the central media buying agency
• Ensure the appropriate use of campaign creative supplied by the HQ Europe
PR & Consumer
• Prepare seasonal strategic brief to local PR agency
• Advise on company direction and strategies
• Manage consumer-facing activities and make recommendations
• Evaluate all consumer activities and change/adapt future ones where appropriate
WHS/Retail/Franchise
• Build sustainable trade relationships to ensure that Timberland is top-of-mind with retailers
• Ensure co-op activities based on our brand campaign and in best value for the brand in line with the co-op budget
• Support the European marketing team with roll-out of range launches, special events, presentations and such
• Provide support and advice on marketing activities on agreed priorities across Wholesale, Franchise and Retail
• Check on competitors to benchmark against them and find alternative solutions to stand out – all distribution level
Budget Control
• Manage local budget on an on-going basis, to ensure that all activities are cost-effective and within budget. Monthly reporting ti Finance. UK Marketing budget 2017: +2 Million.
• Evaluation of budget spend to ensure effective return on investment
• Make necessary adjustments within season as necessary
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
• Required University Degree
• Marketing programms and studies
• Drive, enthusiasm and flexibility
• Teamworker
• Affinity and deep knowledge of the UK and European footwear/apparel industry
• Significant retail/wholesale trade marketing experience in a premium branded environment, preferably with footwear product marketing experience.
• Knowledge and experience of marketing material development processes and purchasing of agency services
• 7+ years relevant experience
• Analytical Skills: Able to read business figures and react against it
• Strong interpersonal, presentation and negociation skills
• Good communication skills
• Management experience (1 person to manage)
• Fluent English
