eCommerce Senior Manager (Optical Retail Brands)

GENERAL FUNCTION The Sr. eCommerce Manager manages a wide range of projects, processes, and initiatives regarding the online channel. This includes executing on the roadmap and managing projects to improve the online user experience for purchases, revenue growth and improved user engagement KPIs, as well as projects aimed to improve and streamline the omni-channel experience. In addition, the Sr. eCommerce Manager liaises with other divisions and tech support and manages a host of projects related to site releases, new initiatives, external partnerships, online marketing, and other projects related to supporting the direct eCommerce channel and traffic generation to brick & mortar stores. The Sr. eCommerce Manager accomplishes Web projects’ objectives by establishing project scope, designing solutions, ensuring high quality delivery, respecting budgets and leading other team members.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Drives project execution & delivery according to business needs & requirements.
• Provides eCommerce functionality expertise during project planning, development and production support.
• Collaborates with business owners and stakeholders to lead eCommerce requirements gathering & analysis.
• Creates project plans detailing project schedule, quality requirements and metrics, and organizational change management activities.
• Establishes project roles & responsibilities, and provides team members with clear direction when needed.
• Defines & documents project work breakdowns, monitors task, status, updates work estimates and incorporates new tasks into plan as needed.
• Establishes Web project scope by studying strategic business drivers; discovering and validating business and technical requirements and parameters; obtaining input from subject-matter experts; examining and recommending changes to current business practices; developing and writing proposals.
• Assures quality of the Web solution by developing and completing test plans; maintaining project documentation.
• Creatively applies project management processes to address unique situations. Assesses project status and directs corrective measures to ensure project success including escalation when appropriate.
• Accomplishes work requirements by orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching employees; following production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; identifying work process improvements.
• Meets cost standards by monitoring expenses; implementing cost-saving actions.
• Directly manages another resource (Web Project Manager).
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s Degree in Technology or related
• 7+ years project management experience
• Previous experience in eCommerce and/or web site management including customer pilots, beta releases and product launches
• Experience in project management methodologies and resource management to ensure project results contribute business value and meet agreed-upon scope, cost, schedule, and quality
• Ability to manage cross-functional teams engaged in supporting the direct online channel
• Ability to manage multiple projects, work under deadlines, and work independently
• Strong organizational, communication and time management skills
• Thorough knowledge of business systems and analytics
• Ability to communicate and work cross-functionally with internal groups as well as external vendors
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• PMP certification
