This role reports into the Senior Onsite Content Manager and is focused primarily on creating daily content for ASOS Style Feeds, owning the Feed calendar and planning, and helping developed the wider onsite content proposition.
What you'll be doing...
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Concept, pitch, research, write, create and upload content for ASOS MW Style Feed and ASOS WW Fashion & Beauty Feed
• Create engaging and relevant cross-platform content (video, app etc)
• Manage an editorial calendar to ensure the regular delivery of inspiring style and grooming content that encourages browsing and shopping, while remaining credible, entertaining, in line with our global customer’s interests and reflective of our brand DNA.
• Work with the fashion and creative teams to schedule shoots and create visual assets for all content
• Work with the video team to help create brilliant style advice and inspiration content on video.
• Understand the ASOS customer and maintain and develop a tone of voice that speaks to that customer
• Work with Global Editors to help develop onsite content in global territories
• Understand analytics around content performance and use insights to inform future content.
• Work with developers and teams around the business to help deliver the next iteration of ASOS onsite content.
• Provide writing and editing support for ad hoc copy requests for example from video, social, customer services etc., or for campaigns and projects.
• Continuously develop and communicate the editorial position and voice for ASOS onsite content. Work with the sub-editor to guard the brand voice on every platform.
• Contribute to a culture within the onsite content team that is positive, professional and always ambitious for the department and the brand.
• Use industry contacts to bring new style and grooming contributors to ASOS onsite content who will inspire our audience and raise our fashion profile, and act as an ambassador for the brand in the wider industry
We'd like to meet...
Experience
• The applicant should have extensive digital experience, with a proven background in journalism and/or branded editorial content creation, ideally in a cross-platform environment.
• Experience in, and knowledge of, fashion, style and grooming editorial is strongly preferred – particularly with a menswear focus.
• The candidate must have experience working with a CMS and a proven ability to learn and utilize new skills in a digital content creation environment.
Skills
• Talented, published writer with proven editorial and/or branded content background
• An intrinsic understanding of the ASOS customer and what motivates him or her
• Plugged into fashion industry and pop culture, with an eye for spotting the latest up and coming trends.
• Strong understanding of digital/online technology and its application across multi-channel content publishing inc apps, social media and video
• Good understanding of a retail business and the ability to balance purely editorial goals with the need to articulate retail messages for the target customer.
• Good understanding of SEO principles and online publishing
• Highly engaged in digital media, an early adopter of new platforms
• Experience of working in a fast paced environment
• Experience of using a content management system (CMS)
• Unflappable and able to manage multiple projects to deadlines
• A collaborative approach within a small, close-knit team, as well as the ability to build strong relationships across the wider business
