Responsibilities
As an Associate Public Relations Manager, you will be responsible for the management of public relations programs and services for the New Balance brand and designated SBUs. In this role you will participate in strategic planning to create and execute initiatives to support the key sales and marketing drivers. You will recommend and direct agency/external resources to develop and execute consumer and trade public relations strategy and represent the brand at industry conference, trade shows and media events. You will collaborate internally with cross-functional teams to identify newsworthy opportunities, serve as a brand press spokesperson and arrange off-site media events and media tours of New Balance facilities. You will also be responsible for the execution of the product placement program. You will arrange high-profile partnerships and celebrity seeding opportunities for the brand as well as develop and distribute press releases and brand/product materials. You will manage the public relations contributions to New Balance’s associate newsletter, intranet system and New Balance website as well as monitor and report key placements to the relevant audience.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in public relations, communications, journalism or a related field.
• Minimum of 6-8 years of experience working with publications and journalists in an agency or corporate environment is required.
• Experience in consumer products required.
• Successful management of a small team.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in social/digital media.
• Deadline-oriented and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Must be energetic and comfortable working in a team environment.
• Travel required – less than 30 percent. simultaneously.
