Description
You will be an advocate for exceptional typography, colour theory, iconography and compelling interaction patterns and skilled in stakeholder management in all situations. Working closely with the Creative Design Manager, you will champion high standards and great attention to detail, working with the Product Design team to achieve this vision.
About the department:
We're responsible for creating meaningful, engaging, beautiful experiences that create emotional connections with our customers. We work hard to understand user needs, champion them and protect them throughout the product design process. We have two teams - one in London and one in Porto - and work in clusters across our suite of products including web, mobile and instore.
We’re ambassadors for the business, pushing the boundaries of what's technologically possible, and creating most of the platforms that we use from scratch. We like to apply a bit of revolutionary thinking to everything we do.
What you’ll do:
• You will manage, direct and oversee multiple design projects across all consumer products
• You will deliver the brand vision ensuring a consistent creative voice
• You will act as brand guardian and advise on all brand and creative work, ensuring guidelines are adhered to, working with Product Designers to achieve this vision
• You will ensure that all product design is done with a full understanding of best practice and deliver continuous review and critique of output to maintain excellent quality control
• You will establish your role and internal profile as a key design lead for design approvals, whilst creating a process that makes execution efficient
• You will work collaboratively within an Agile process with; other UX designers, digital designers, product owners, project managers, UI and back end developers
• You will challenge design proposals to ensure they are appropriate and in line with broader business goals
• You will work with senior stakeholders
• You will champion user experience and advocate the best design for our end users
• You will bring inspiring ideas and motivation to an energetic and collaborative team
Who you are:
• You are an experienced digital product designer
• You are from a BA/BSc/MA in HCI, Graphic / Visual Design, Information Systems, Computer Science or similar preferred
• You are an expert, best practice knowledge for; web, native, product, ux and user research
• You are experience in design methodologies knowledge; agile, lean, design thinking. When and what to employ from each
• You are an expert in Adobe CC/Sketch or relevant design software and prototyping tools of your choice
• You are experienced in strategic design and creative development from initial concept to finished design in agency or in-house environments
• You are experienced in owning a project vision, execution, quality and stakeholder relationship
• You have a holistic and human centered approach to product and service design, from research and insight generation to concept to deliverable
• You are ideally experienced working in fashion e-commerce and/or a digital creative agency
• You are able and willing to travel to other Farfetch global offices when required
