CONVERSE Senior Buyer - eCommerce
Description
For Converse Buyers, everything begins and ends with the consumer. The Converse buying team understands consumer needs. They blend art with science to bring Converse’s category vision to life in all retail environments from stores to online. The Buying team has the ability to see beyond trends to identify what’s next and deliver the right products, in the right places at the right time and price.
As our Senior E-commerce Footwear Buyer, you’ll be responsible for owning and driving topline seasonal direction to support total store business strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and execute seasonal category product strategies in order to achieve ideal product assortment to deliver profitable revenue and gross margin dollar growth.
• Be the owner of short and long term product strategies to grow the business and brand.
• Develop monthly forecasts of sales and inventory.
• Communicate category and buying strategies to cross functional and category business partners.
• Own the management of multiple sub categories.
• Partner closely with Planning, Allocation, Merchandising, Marketing, and Analytics.
• Develop methods for analyzing performance of previous business strategies and make tactical adjustments to leverage opportunities for increased profitability.
• Collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure that Converse.com has the right types of product available to meet the needs of the consumer.
• Mentor, train, educate, and coach a team and serve as a knowledge resource for other team members.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Merchandising, Inventory Management or a related field preferred
• Minimum of 6 years’ experience in Merchandising or Buying related role, Planning experience a plus
• Ability to develop and execute strategic plans
• Capacity to partner with Director to identify category product opportunities to drive business
• Proficient in short term & long term product forecasting (revenue and trends)
• Ability to solve complex problems and take a new perspective using existing solutions
• Proficient information seeking skills and drive for results
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, including meeting facilitation and presentations
• Ability to communicate and conduct presentations to all levels in the organization, including senior management
• Ability to follow through and meet timelines
• Intimate knowledge of Digital marketplace and trends
• Strong analytical and leadership skills
• Excellent knowledge of MS Office, including Excel and PowerPoint
• Experience managing and developing direct reports
• Footwear buying experience a must
• Ability to travel
