Buyer - Own Label Wovens - Womenswear | London
Entrepreneurial spirit is encouraged at ASOS, with each team working autonomously, taking ownership for their area. You will report directly to the Head of Buying for Womenswear Own Label. As part of the Womenswear team you will be expected to develop a strong relationship with your Merchandising, Garment Tech and Design teams. You will be responsible for delivery of sales and profit targets in order to execute a well-conceived product strategy. You will be collaborative, organised, and strategic with your finger on the pulse of fashion always looking to push the department forward.
What you’ll be doing:
With experience in Womenswear Own Label; you will deliver the company and department strategy for being first for fashion and first for trend through:
• Building and maintaining a Wovens offer targeted at the ASOS Womenswear consumer.
• Sourcing and delivering suitable product to deliver sales and profit plans and in turn lead to a consistently high customer experience.
• Regularly reviewing and evolving the product offer.
• Sourcing product in the UK and globally, delivering a suitable offer to achieve sales and profit plans and in turn, a consistently high customer experience.
• Building relationships with key suppliers and negotiating the best deal on product
• Developing specific products and ranges to complete the Wovens offer and maximise profit.
• The analysis of departmental performance and effective reactions to the information gathered, maximising commercial opportunities.
• Liaising with other departments in the business to drive the Womenswear proposition.
• Keeping up to date with both on-line and bricks and mortar competitor activity, reviewing product strategy in light of competitor activity/initiatives.
• Managing and training junior members of the team including Assistant Buyers and Buyers Administrators
We’d love to meet someone with:
• Previous experience as a working as a Buyer with Womenswear experience
• Demonstration of a commercial aptitude
• A creative eye with an awareness of current trends and what is happening in retail
• Able to effectively prioritise workload
• Excellent verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly, effectively and appropriately with colleagues, suppliers and others at all levels.
