Purpose
• Lead the purchasing team in achieving excellence in the day to day activities as key partners in supply chain and cross functional needs.
• Lead role in the day to day procurement process driving alignment with cross-functional partners in Marketing, Sales, Finance, Direct to Consumer, Supply Planning, Logistics and Demand Planning to ultimately achieve industry leading cost efficient supply availability
• To ensure the on time and in full delivery of purchase orders in order to meet sales demand of customers
• Performing accurate and measurable buying for the US with responsibility through to OTIF performance.
• To manage the US Markets’ buying activity while adhering to best practices and inventory/cost targets
Key Responsibilities
• Lead and supervise the purchasing team, working with Marketing, Sales, DTC, and SCM to develop and execute purchasing strategies that support business objectives
• Development and deployment of Purchasing Business Principals that support service, inventory and cost objectives
• Provide strategy and functional direction that ensures analysts’ buying consistency, on time deliveries, and inventory/cost efficiencies
• Ensure the creation, evolution and maintenance of documentation and best in class operating procedures for purchasing processes and systems
• Manage all aspects of the forecast and production order processes for the US Market to ensure that expectations are met or exceeded.
• Manage inventory targets (including safety stock levels) that are approved by Management
• Create a culture that leads to excellent customer service and development of relationships to the US market. To include, but not limited to, the provision of information and resolution of queries and disputes to meet the customers satisfaction.
• Initiate, develop or implement new programs or ideas to further refine and improve our business process; whether self-directed, at the request of the customer or through a coordinated effort with business partners.
• To recruit, manage and develop individuals (including succession planning) that add dynamics to the team. Efficiently planning and resourcing the team to ensure agreed service levels can be achieved. Monitor performance, coach and undertake IDP process.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• In depth knowledge of supply chain
• Motivating and leading a complex team
• Excellent knowledge of overall supply chain mechanics
• Excellent understanding of the flow of goods from sourcing to customer
• Demonstrating initiative and acting result oriented
• Purchasing Manager with proven track record of successfully managing demand planning for a large market
• Strong interpersonal skills (e.g. relationship management, facilitation)
• Strong analytical skills
• Proven methodological skills (e.g. data analysis, trend forecasting)
• High degree of commercial and business acumen knowledge to challenge and drive consensus between sales, marketing and operations.
• Working knowledge of ERP systems, preferably SAP
• Proven leadership and managerial skills
• Ability to challenge the way in which things are done
• Excellent communication skills
Minimum Qualifications
1. Minimum 7 to 9 years of Operations related planning experience within a large sales organization and with increasing degree of responsibility
2. Preferable experience in the sporting goods industry
3. Experience successfully leading, managing and developing teams
4. 4 year college degree with emphasis in logistics, planning or finance
