POSITION SUMMARY:
The Digital Marketing Manager executes and manages email and social marketing efforts for the Office of Institutional Advancement and has a dual report to the Director of Annual Giving and the Executive Director of Alumni Relations. The Digital Marketing Manager supports a variety of advancement and alumni-focused efforts, including fundraising campaigns, philanthropic awareness, newsletters, alumni event invitations, and supporting 13 alumni chapters (12 domestic and 1 international).
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Manage email and social campaign calendars, individual campaigns, and template design process for solicitations and event invitations.
• In partnership with Social Media Coordinator, manage social media campaigns and engage key constituencies for Institutional Advancement.
• Optimize emails through A/B tests, segmentation, content, calls-to-action and timing.
• Monitor analytics and develop reports for key stakeholders.
• Work closely with key stakeholders in Development and Alumni Relations on marketing strategies to drive philanthropy and engagement.
• Serve other email and social marketing needs for Institutional Advancement as they arise.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:Bachelor’s degree.
Experience:
• 3+ years of experience in digital marketing
• Experience with social advertising strategies
• Experience in higher education preferred
• Familiarity with email automation and retargeting preferred
Knowledge and Skills:
• Superior writing, communication, and organizational skills
• Strong understanding of data and analytics pertaining to digital marketing
• Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, Photoshop preferred
• Experience with CRM software (Raiser’s Edge a plus)
• Excellent verbal and written communication – including the ability to interact effectively with all levels of staff and management
• Ability to work independently on multiple projects and across units, including business stakeholders and creative services
• Excellent interpersonal skills, service orientation, and ability to handle situations with diplomacy and a professional demeanor at all times
• Highly organized and detail-oriented; able to execute complicated tasks with limited oversight
• Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with a diverse group of staff; understanding of importance of diversity in higher education
