MISSION
To collaborate with and support the Women's Surface Designer. To design and develop unique, distinctive Women's apparel that is consistent with the seasonal direction.
KEY RESULTS AREAS
• Assist the designer in all aspects to meet deadlines.
• Communicate daily with cross functional partners as well as overseas with Tommy Bahama Global Sourcing and other agents.
• Create and update colorway swatches in Flex PLM
• Set up all artwork numbers in PLM and prepare to hand off to the art department under direction of the designer
• Provide support for all seasonal print and pattern coloration under direction of Designer and Director
• Provide comments for all print and pattern corrections under direction of the Designer
• Set up workroom with all cads and art in proper colorways, deliveries, and fabric programs for meetings and update as changes are made.
• Make sure to keep up with changes as they affect the seasonal walls
• Set up seasonal Dev cards to keep track of styles in development as well as keep track of the tech packs sent out.
• As print, pattern graphics and embellishment is selected, set up in PLM to prepared for hand off to art department
• Create Illustrator sketches from the designers’ hand sketches of art and embellishment.
• Create and update PLM fabric swatches when colorways are approved so designer can use to fill their bodies
• Maintain strike off organization and racks by delivery and by season.
• Prepare all files to hand off to production
• Keep track of all art and fabric that arrive
• Act as point person for all print and pattern related questions from the design team and the art department.
• Assist with presentation at milestone meetings and note taking.
• Keep all materials in order and organize the racks post meetings
EXPERIENCE, TALENT AND EDUCATION
• Fashion Degree in Fashion Design or related preferred
• Generally 1+ years women’s design experience
• Fluency in Adobe Creative Suite: Illustrator sketching and fills, Illustrator and Photoshop print creation, Ned Graphics and recoloring
• Good communication skills (oral and written) - follow up and follow through
• Highly detail oriented
• Experience with the apparel design process from concept to product
• Knowledge of Asian Markets
• Self-starter and creative thinker
• Ability to follow through on multiple tasks simultaneously
• Ability to work in a fast paced, rapidly changing environment
• Excellent time management and organizational skills.
