General Summary:
Thought partner in the innovation and evolution of the total store experience as it relates to product, styling, storytelling and fixture design.
Key collaborative partner for cross-functional teams that serve the Retail stores for Athleta including Marketing & Creative, Store Experience Team, Field Teams, Merchants and Design.
This position will support the Director of Visual Merchandising and will supervise two Visual Merchandising Associates.
Essential Responsibilities:
• Create innovative visual storytelling through product presentations and look and feel of the Retail environment. These include: Mannequin styling, in-store marketing and all 3D environmental elements.
• Partner closely with the Creative Retail Team to concept disruptive and innovative window and in-store presentations. This includes: Concepting of Flagships and any localized marketing needs.
• Evolve the in-store environment from fixture development to new store layouts.
• Collaborate with Merchandising, Design and Marketing teams in the pre-season process to create the seasonal assortment and develop Retail specific marketing strategies.
• Build constructive and effective relationships with key cross-functional business partners including Marketing, Planning + Allocation, Store Design, Merchandising, Design and Field to align support of Visual Merchandising and Brand initiatives.
• Work with the Graphic Designer on calendaring of teams and projects as well as approving all Visual communication guides and update vehicles.
• Partner with Store Experience team to communicate store updates, coordinate new store openings, assist in the development and maintenance of visual merchandising resources for the stores, plan seasonal dates.
• Lead and develop two Visual Merchandising Associates.
• Budget and Rollout Management
Knowledge, skills and abilities:
• Minimum six years Retail Visual Merchandising role. Working closely with Marketing teams to concept a plus.
• Previous HQ/Corporate experience required
• Creative and highly innovative thinker with a willingness to push boundaries
• Strong understanding of the customer and how visual merchandising supports the customer experience
• High level of leadership skills and experience in motivating and influencing others
• Strong women's fashion and styling sense and knowledge of the competition and industry
• Self-motivated with strong project management skills
• Strong problem analysis and decision making skills
• Professional degree preferred (BS or BA) minimum
• Some travel required
