Director, Field Sales - Smashbox & Glamglow

Reports to: Brand Manager, Smashbox, Glamglow & ADF
Summary
The role of the Director, Sales is to strategize, plan and execute in areas of store programs, events, staff and launches for the Smashbox & Glamglow in Canada with the goal of achieving retail sales targets, maximizing sell through, reducing returns, and increasing profitability. This involves selection, development, and retention of direct reports; building collaborative relationships within Estee Lauder Companies, Specialty Canadian field staff and Specialty Canadian stores; and ownership of the Specialty Canadian field budget and resources.
Responsibilities
• Recruit, onboard, and retain highly qualified Account Executives to meet the brand’s needs. Develop talent as a key element of executing business plans and achieving sales goals.
• Ensure entire territory hires and retains a high caliber of talent; includes assisting in interviewing and hiring the best-fit candidates for Area Artistry Trainers.
• Implement programs to coach, train, and develop staff to maximize the customer experience and increase sales performance.
• Communicate and develop partnerships with specialty retail Regional VP, District Managers, and Store Management to garner support for initiatives and overall account strategy.
• Ensure store management’s understanding and action necessary to meet the brand’s needs. This includes achieving appropriate inventory levels, education, cleanliness, merchandising, and general business support to grow retail sales.
• Deliver the annual retail sales plan for the assigned territory.
• Handle all required administrative duties expeditiously, accurately and to meet deadlines.
• Ensure strong execution of promotional events, key channel marketing initiatives, visual merchandising updates, and allocation of freelance/T&E budgets
• Evaluate employee’s performance regularly and provide ongoing performance feedback; conducts annual performance reviews.
• Develop territory and door sales plans on a monthly, quarterly, and annualized basis to meet brand projections.
• Partner with brand education team to implement training programs to ensure consistent and thorough training for all field and retailer employees.
• Support the Account Executives in gaining cluster and regional training support opportunities.
Qualifications
• Post-Secondary Degree required
• Experience as a leader/manager of field based, results-oriented teams.
• Proven track record of success with sales performance and quantifiable results.
• Requires 8 years of field-based retail sales or education experience with direct reports; require beauty industry experience.
• Demonstrated experience within specialty retail preferred.
• Ability & experience managing budgets including T&E expenditures, gratis, and freelance dollars.
• Previous experience managing net shipments and stock to sales plans.
• Strategic thinker with strong business acumen and problem-solving abilities.
• Dynamic individual with ability to coach, develop, and inspire others to action.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
