Job Description
The Director - SEO will be responsible for managing and driving strategy, planning and execution of search engine optimization projects across all U.S. based HBC websites (Saks, Lord & Taylor, Gilt, Saks OFF 5TH). The position requires someone with thought leadership capabilities to develop innovative ways of improving rankings and visibility in the search engines as well as the ability to lead and advise cross functional teams on the execution of HBC SEO strategy.
Responsibilities:
*Responsible for owning development, prioritization and execution of SEO optimization roadmap in support of significantly growing revenue contribution from this channel (with short, mid and long term strategies).
*Partner with Tech and business leadership to manage successful implementation and execution of SEO priorities for all HBC websites.
*Conduct ongoing audits and provide recommendations to enhance the standing of HBC websites in natural search listings
*Provide an exceptional level of reporting which includes detailed insights, actionable next steps which tie-back to overarching business objectives
*Manage new and existing agency and third party partnerships that contribute to SEO success.
*Partner with SEM team to support optimized spend goals and traffic plans.
*Provide SEO training to internal teams and cross functional partners
Candidates should demonstrate expertise in strategic and technical aspects of the SEO industry, along with cross functional and team management skills.
Candidates must be detail-oriented, team-oriented, and possess exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
Qualifications
*6-8 years of work experience in technical development or interactive marketing with a minimum of 3-4 years of SEO experience.
*Ability to compile and analyze search data and metrics and present formal recommendations to leaders using PowerPoint and/or MS Excel
*Enterprise-level experience on ecommerce sites is essential.
*Advanced knowledge of technical, usability and content-related aspects of a website and their impact on natural search visibility
*Excellent knowledge of leading industry software & tools, such as Searchmetrics, BrightEdge, Screaming Frog, Keyword Planner, Google Search Console, Google Analytics, Majestic SEO, A-hrefs, Accuranker, Deep Crawl, Cognitive SEO and more.
*Experience with how mobile, social media and other marketing campaigns impact natural search visibility.
*Strong knowledge of web development technologies with emphasis on JavaScript, XML and XSLT
*Self-motivated and able to work both individually and as part of a team
*Must be comfortable presenting/explaining technical concepts to non-technical teams
*Intermediate-level understanding of related digital marketing fields, including email marketing, display media and social media marketing is a plus
