MLS Marketing Manager, adidas League Licensing
Purpose
To enhance brand authenticity through the development of significant marketing partnerships with MLS, and individual MLS Clubs. To develop and execute marketing and promotional programs and to create demand for MLS product at retail.
Key Accountabilities
• Act as primary point of contact for MLS league office Marketing heads, as well as individual MLS Club marketing contacts and build long term partnerships with all appropriate levels.
• Work in coordination with Brand Communications Director to develop a marketing strategy for MLS and individual MLS clubs on an annual basis, which is in-line with Soccer SBP strategy.
• Ensure alignment and coordination with cross functional partners, Sports Marketing, Product Marketing, Newsrooms, and Retail experience team.
• Position and leverage the adidas brand with the best programs to excite consumers about brand image and superior product innovations.
• Ensure all decisions and actions help drive the overall marketing goal and ultimately maximize the impact of our message to consumers at retail.
• Use retail partners as the authentic stage to present adidas brand and product innovations to consumers.
• Partner with sales and the rest of adidas marketing to identify programs that can represent our brand and showcase product innovations and technologies
• Execute all necessary marketing functions: process purchase orders, requisitions, contract payments, travel and invoices; and ensure budget adherence
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
• Thorough understanding of US Soccer market with a focus on Marketing activations, media landscape, and retail environments
• P & L and/or cost center responsibility
• Strong and effective communication skills
• Ability to effectively and persuasively present to all levels within and outside of the organization.
Qualifications
1. BS/BA with 4+ years of industry specific experience with strong organizational skills in addition to strong oral and written communication skills.
2. Experience in Brand marketing with focus on Digital, media, and retail activations.
3. League or Licensed business experience preferred
