Graphic Designer, Licensed & Speed Lab
Purpose:
To be the creative mind behind the adidas Licensed category in the Canadian Marketplace. Primary responsibilities include working with the Speed Lab Manager and the Licensed Apparel PM in order to design, develop and prepare Quick turn product and to set the overall look of the Licensed department’s creative materials and GTM Tools. Creative projects will be assigned across a spectrum of communication and product disciplines. Key Accountabilities
• Working with the SLM and the LAPM, be the creative engine behind the design and creation of adidas Speed Lab and SMU product range with a specific focus on key partner relationships (NHL, CFL, MLS, MLSE)
• Be the design driver of Hot Market opportunities by constantly introducing new product and graphics
• Facilitate communication and collaboration with internal and external sales representatives and managers, coordinated by Speed Lab Manager, including merchandising and print design initiatives.
• Provide graphics and design insight to the adidas Speed Lab division as it relates to seasonal presentations and SMU development
• Establish productive relationships with leagues, adidas global, internal and creative agency contacts to leverage all available tools and resources in particular the SLD graphic design team
• Responsible for developing and designing sell in materials, including brochures, catalogues, program booklets and other digital and print-based communication tools for adidas Licensed and Speed Lab departments
• Create merchandise boards, design and prepare finished art for product support materials.
• Prepare and deliver final files to printers for production.
• Design, develop and prepare mechanical assembly of creative materials as assigned by Speed Lab Manager
• Color/lighting correction and photo manipulation for product and model images.9kl,.
• Responsible for understanding the creative inspiration of the brand and executing extensions to our product range to fill specific customer needs. Utilize existing resources to maximize the efficiency of domestic development efforts.
• Set up, maintain and manage graphic database and back-end upload sheet.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
• 2-3 years of product graphic design and/or graphic design experience in an established creative environment.
• Specialize in rendering, illustrating and interpreting messages into visual forms.
• Knowledge of apparel production process’
• Clear understanding of printing procedures and requirements as related to merchandising
• Extensive knowledge and working experience of Adobe Creative Cloud programs: Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign.
• Possess an in-depth knowledge of the Canadian Sporting goods industry, the key players, retail and market directions
• Utilization of specified computer graphic programs.
• Front Line exposure to the Licensed business segments from a retail and association perspective
• Exemplary organizational and communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively, independently and as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Extensive graphic design and page layout skills.
• Experience manipulating digital photography, lighting and colour correction (product and model shots).
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deliver against strict guidelines.
• Knowledge of Autocad, FTP sites, HTML and CSS considered strong assets.
• Bilingualism an asset
Qualifications:
• Graduate degree from a leading art college and/or university graphic design related program.
