Responsibilities
Execute new and original designs for footwear that align with overall brand creative direction. Apply design, color, and material skills, innovative thinking, and technical experience in athletic footwear toward creating products, technologies, and components for Women’s team. Work in cross-functional teams to design and develop concepts that continue to advance product performance and aesthetics. Use deep understanding of color, form, and trends to add color and material to cutting-edge designs and define aesthetic direction. Participate in laying out an overarching color/materials roadmap for Women’s collections. Research and source materials, and put concept boards together to present options that continue to advance product performance and excellence. Work closely with design, development, sourcing, and product management. Research project needs, generate multiple concept solutions, and communicate ideas through sketches, renderings, boards, and presentations. Utilize knowledge of category-specific consumer trends and culture to improve product performance and appearance. Actively participate in creative vision during design events. Carry moderately complex project workload and ensure key project deadlines are met.
Qualifications
Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Industrial Design, Product Design or related field and two years of work experience in the job offered or related field of footwear design.
Experience must include core design competencies, including color, materials, sketching, concept ideation, presenting, and problem-solving. Must have at least one year of experience with design programs such as Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, PhotoShop, and Keynote. Must have at least one year of experience with footwear construction and manufacturing. Must have thorough knowledge of action sports lifestyle market trends.
Must be willing and able to travel both domestically and internationally up to 4% of the time.
