We are developing a center-led Order-to-Cash (O2C) function globally to drive a shared strategic agenda, with a scalable, process-focused organization and a continuous improvement mindset. As the Director of NIKE’s Global Credit and Risk function, you will be a key member of the team dedicated to guiding the Company on the transition from today’s decentralized, country-specific tools and processes used to manage credit risk, receivables, cash application and disputes to the new center-led operating model with global tools, policies and processes.
Key accountabilities include:
• Be the global leader for Credit and Risk management, to include being a strategic thought partner with cross-functional stakeholders (Commerce, Supply Chain Operations, Finance), providing strategic insight and development/execution of the strategic plan for the Credit and Risk function within the O2C Value Stream.
• Be the “communicator-in-chief” for Credit & Risk, engaging global leaders cross-functionally to share data-driven insights, propose action and drive decision making that strengthens Nike’s balance sheet and improves profitability.
• Be the thinker, formulating global Credit & Risk strategies and policies aimed at optimizing credit risk and driving value creation by offering perspectives, guidance and recommendations to improve portfolio health and performance as well as process efficiencies and effectiveness. Perspectives and recommendations will cross a broad spectrum of levers, including payment terms, discounts, collateral requirements and credit limits.
• Be the catalyst for permanent change, promoting change and driving execution and adoption of global Credit & Risk initiatives and deployment of key risk mitigation engablers, only allowing for local exceptions to global processes when legal or local market conditions prevent deployment of a global standard.
• Be the driver, fully supporting the Global O2C Operations transformation to the center-led operating model, and driving associated change across all Geographies.
• Lead, coach, drive and inspire your team of regional credit managers, credit analysts and process experts, balancing the day-to-day business execution with the transformative work ofimplementing new processes, controls, tools, etc. into the new organization construct of a regional service delivery model.
• Collaborating across Geographies, sharing and adopting industry leading practices using LEAN tools and methods.
• Develop strong business relationships with global and geography senior leaders and regional O2C operations leaders to leverage and protect Nike’s AR asset and support brand growth strategies.
Be a senior leader within the Global O2C Value Stream, actively offering suggestions to achieve team-success, taking the initiative to get things done and following through on commitments
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics; Masters degree is highly beneficial.
• 8-9 years’ experience in commercial credit and collections, business/strategic planning, management consulting or related field; additional experience working in a large multinational, publicly-held company is highly preferred.
• Proven ability to develop high profile, influential and collaborative relationships across teams, functions and layers, preferably inclusive of navigating a large corporation.
• Proven experience building and managing high-performing teams; experience managing and influencing remote resources is strongly preferred but not required.
• Demonstrated experience driving complex, multi-faceted transformations spanning process, organizational design, and tools/systems changes in a dynamic and growing business environment. Includes experience driving change from a highly decentralized function and process to a more strategic, center-led offense and shared-services model.
• Demonstrated strong skills with high-profile and cross-cultural communications spanning all time zones across the globe. Skills include excellent verbal and written communication of complex and/or controversial topics and concepts; meeting facilitation; effective communication on status, issues, risks and opportunities with senior leadership team.
• Proven ability to communicate to a wide and diverse audience, including meeting facilitation and presentations.
• Exposure to ERP accounting and finance systems such as SAP, FSCM, Biller Direct, Customer Portal functions, etc. are also highly desirable.
• Ability to pass a 7 year background check.
