Description
• Oversee the production and sourcing functions for all woven categories.
• Manage a team of 3; Guide, challenge, and mentor individuals as well as foster a collaborative environment.
• Set global sourcing strategy: source new suppliers based on business growth plans and introduction of new product categories. Develop and maintain a diversified international supply chain.
• Create and monitor seasonal/yearly calendar to ensure relevant due dates being met.
• Vendor capacity planning and maintenance.
• Interface with design and merchanding teams from development through production to meet company cost, delivery and quality standards requirements.
• Help drive growth of the strong and dynamic denim business
• Communicate daily with overseas and domestic agents, factories, and suppliers on related production issues.
• Attend seasonal design presentations and related meetings
• Oversee cost analysis and negotiations to ensure company IMU/retail targets are met.
• Monitor and manage weekly Time and Action reports. Establish quick response and fast track programs with suppliers.
• Attend fittings to monitor the approval process and ensure approval deadline are met.
• Interface closely with the fabric team: set fabric pricing perimeters, identify counter-sourcing opportunities, and negotiate bulk fabric prices and lead-times.
• Interact with all relevant internal counterparts (tech, design, merchandising, planning, testing) and be the point person for the related categories
Communication Skills
• Conduct in-season production and related meetings
• Correspond with all inter-department associates and agents/ direct vendors on product issues
• Articulate deadlines to direct reports while constructively supports with timely feedback
• Interact with inter-department colleagues from initial concept stages through delivery
• Relationship building with strategic Agents/Vendors
Production Maintenance Skills
• Review cost sheets and margins with team on a regular basis to ensure required AUCs and margins are met.
• Review Production reports to insure accuracy and integrity of product maintenance
• Monitor all aspects of production procedures and processes.
Operational Skills
• Determine and implement sourcing strategies.
• Monitor all testing procedures on fabric and finished garments
• Fabric inventory maintenance.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Must have a minimum of 10+years’ experience within a production/product management capacity
• Must have experience in denim production and washing
• Intensive focus on global sourcing of new suppliers
• Extensive experience in cost negotiating and analyzing of cost breakdowns
• Garment construction knowledge
• Experience in garment costing- creating targets, counter-costing, and negotiating with multiple vendors
• Excellent communication, multi-tasking, organizational and follow-up skills
• Team management
• Proficient in PC applications including MS Word, Excel and Outlook Express
