JOB SUMMARY
This key position leads our marketing “campaign and content” team. This team’s mission is to help Sephora deliver against its goal of “teach, inspire, play” through original campaigns and client-facing content.
This leader is a marketing strategist who can identify powerful campaign insights that promote our product/service priorities, resonate with clients, and differentiate the Sephora brand. He/she will coordinate internal business partners and marketing execution teams to feed content needs across retail and digital channels. He/she will also spearhead our award-winning social media efforts, engaging clients across established and emerging platforms.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Marketing calendar orchestration and campaign planning
• Builds the Sephora seasonal marketing calendar, resolving priorities from multiple business and channel stakeholders
• With the support of the team, delivers creative briefs for all major campaigns. Integrates business and client insights to inspire innovative thinking.
• Directs marketing communication storylines across largescale monthly campaigns and micro moments—from advertising to in-store to digital/mobile
• Builds 360 campaign activation plans in partnership with media and vehicle experts
Marketing strategy
• Spearheads annual strategic planning for the Marketing department
• Allocates strategic investments across the Sephora marketing mix
• Builds business cases for new initiatives that advance Sephora’s leadership in experiential retail
• Guards the Sephora overall brand and builds strategies to ensure its status as a most-loved beauty brand
Sephora Collection brand marketing
• Supports the brand health of our private label—Sephora Collection
• Works closely with Merchants/Product Development teams to build seasonal product launch assets and communications
• Ensures the success of our “Beauty Uncomplicated” marketing campaign in advertising, social media, and site/mobile experiences
• Builds plans to acquire new clients and drive trade-up behavior
Social media management
• Provides strategic oversight of Sephora’s owned social channels—Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, Twitter, Snapchat and several emerging platforms
• Supervises our YouTube/video strategy to inspire clients and build confidence in beauty
• Drives our original content and programming vision
• Responsible for maximizing organic reach, engagement, and relevance on a lean budget…all while staying true to the Sephora brand DNA
Team leadership
• Leads a team of 15+ marketing professionals
• This is a newly-formed team. Creates a common sense of purpose and vision but seeks to evolve as our client and needs change
• Demonstrates exquisite coordination skills across a complex organization - finding solutions in partnership with internal clients, external agencies, and marketing collaborators
• Key partnerships include: Creative, Merchandising, Digital, PR/Events, Stores teams
QUALIFICATIONS
• The ideal candidate represents a “modern marketer” with experience working at a large consumer brand in an executive capacity
• Multichannel retail experience is a plus
• Ability to travel as required (10-20%)
