Summary:
There is an immediate opening for a Merchandiser on the Nautica Men's Wholesale team. This role will be responsible to act as the intermediary between Design, Production and Sales within the company while ensuring the division meets is Margin Goal expectations. To provide and maintain the corporate calendar to Design while adhering to Productions lead times and Sales meetings. To interact effectively with Production/Design on researching fabrics and factories, and reviewing standards of workmanship/quality to achieve best product at best prices.
• Own development of seasonal Strategic Line Plan (SLP) for NMSW to support seasonal financial plans. Build SLP each season. Create initial style projections based on agreed upon style ranking and roll up to class plans. Maintain SLP throughout season capturing all line changes, price changes and strategy or plan changes in unit projections.
• Own development of seasonal menu for NMSW. Pull history and build initial TY/LY sku by class and delivery group comparison. Build menu to communicate and support seasonal strategy.
• Create seasonal weighted margin roll for Big and Tall business. Partner with Big & Tall salesperson and production to get costing for Big & Tall styles each season. Prior to market, propose ws/retails to Director of Merchandising that roll to agreed upon margin.
• Own pre-market and post market buys. Ensure information is passed to production by agreed upon dates. Resolve post market buy issues with sales, customer service and production.
• Act as merchandising point person for Club business. Receive emailed product requests from Club sales team. Work with design and follow up to ensure appropriate product is developed.
• Merchandising point person for all Consumer Research and Market Research projects.
• Present seasonal selling results in Selling Presentations.
• Ad hoc deep dive sales history projects as needed i.e. seasonal class history (t-shirts, competition, swim, etc.)
• Support seasonal floorset.
Education/Experience:
Years of Related Professional Experience: 3+ years
BS/BA degree in Merchandising or related field
Skills:
• Excellent communication skills (written and oral) and interpersonal skills
• Strong time management and executional skills
• Strong analytical skills to include working knowledge of retail math.
• Excellent computer skills needed
• Strong ability to multi-task, extremely organized with attention to detail
• High level of initiative (self-motivation)
